How is Rep. James Comer, Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, planning on investigating the Biden family and discovering who was paying them and for what those payments were made? By tracing the money, following the dollars into the Biden Family’s pockets or related pockets by looking into everything from the donations to the Penn Biden Center to who was buying Hunter’s mediocre artwork.
Rep. Comer said as much when speaking to the Washington Examiner about the course his investigations will take and what methods of getting money to the Biden family he is most interested in prying into, saying:
“We’re trying to trace the money. We’ll be looking at bank statements. We’ll be looking at bank violations. That’s the next phase of our investigation because we’re trying to figure out who these anonymous sources are that are sending so much money to the Biden family schemes — the Biden Center for Diplomacy and Hunter Biden’s artwork.”
Continuing, he noted that it looks like Hunter Biden could have had access to the classified documents in Biden’s Wilmington, DE home and that “That [access] raises a red flag.” He then added that, if Team Biden refuses to cooperate, he will “absolutely” use his subpoena power to get the answers he seeks.
Further, he noted that Biden should want to cooperate with House Republicans because “If there’s nothing there, then the president should be more than willing to cooperate with House Republicans because he could make us look bad,” so Biden’s refusal to cooperate is somewhat suspicious.
Comer also noted the suspicious nature of the huge donations to the University of Pennsylvania following the creation of the Penn Biden Center, asking “What are they trying to peddle? What information does China want?”
That’s just the latest in a steady stream of attacks Rep. Comer has launched on U Penn as of late over those suspicious Chinese donations. Taking the fight to the university recently, Rep. Comer said, in a letter to the university:
The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating President Biden’s possible illegal handling of sensitive, highly classified documents. Recent reports reveal President Biden’s attorneys discovered Obama-Biden Administration documents in an unsecure closet at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement (Penn Biden Center)—a Washington, D.C.-based think tank affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn). Additional classified documents were discovered in the President’s Delaware garage and home. President Biden’s pattern of mishandling classified documents is alarming. The Committee is concerned about who had access to these documents given the Biden family’s financial connections to foreign actors and companies. The Committee requests documents and information related to foreign influence at UPenn and the Penn Biden Center.
The Committee has learned UPenn received tens of millions of dollars from anonymous Chinese sources, with a marked uptick in donations when then-former Vice President Biden was announced as leading the Penn Biden Center initiative.UPenn publicized the formation of the Penn Biden Center on February 1, 2017. After that announcement, UPenn’s donations originating from China more than tripled. Not only were these donations made while President Biden explored a potential run for president and launched his campaign, but also as his family and associates pursued lucrative financial projects with partners in China. The American people deserve to know whether the Chinese Communist Party, through Chinese companies, influenced potential Biden Administration policies with large, anonymous donations to UPenn and the Penn Biden Center.
