NEW: Trump Announces Arrival Of First 1-Million Barrels Of Venezuelan Oil
President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that the first one million barrels of Venezuelan oil under a major energy agreement had arrived in the United States.
The cargo reached Corpus Christi, Texas, aboard the oil tanker Angerona, which docked at the port the previous day. Trump planned to visit the vessel during a campaign stop in the state, joined by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, as part of a trip that included multiple rallies in support Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton.
“We took over Venezuela very successfully, and they’ve sent me as a gift a boatload of a million barrels of oil, and I’m giving that to the United States of America,” Trump told reporters before departing for Texas. “We’re going to accept a million barrels of oil, and I’m going to give it to you people to use it the way you want,” he added, further noting that oil prices “are going to be dropping very sharply, very soon.”
Trump also addressed the matter in a Truth Social post. “I am traveling to Corpus Christi, Texas to a PACKED Rally, where the United States of America will receive ONE MILLION BARRELS of VENEZUELAN OIL as a result of our Highly Successful Military Operation, followed by the Biggest Oil Deal in the History of the World. Thanks to our renewed relationship with Venezuela, which has turned out to be a truly excellent one, the Oil is being provided to the United States at NO cost to the American Taxpayer,” the president wrote.
“This is just the first shipment of BILLIONS of Barrels to come. By unleashing Energy Dominance from Alaska, all the way down to Venezuela, I have made the Western Hemisphere the Energy Capital of the World. Gasoline and Diesel Prices will soon come plummeting down — JUST WATCH!”
A White House official confirmed in a statement to the New York Post thatthe shipment contained one million barrels “provided to the United States for free, at no cost to the taxpayer,” describing it as “the first of the billions of barrels to come from this deal.” At the Corpus Christi rally, Trump pointed toward the tanker and said it carried one million barrels of oil from Venezuela.

“This historic win gives us control over a massive part of the world’s oil supply,” Trump told the crowd, adding that it would be refined in Corpus Christi and elsewhere in Texas. He also referred to the delivery as the result of a “big victory in our recent war with Venezuela” and described the broader arrangement as “the greatest oil victory in history.”
The shipment comes after the January 2026 military operation that led to the removal and extradition of Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro.
The United States has since worked with the interim government led by acting President Delcy Rodríguez. In late August 2026, Trump announced an agreement, negotiated with the involvement of Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, that grants the United States majority control of more than 65 billion barrels of proven oil reserves in Venezuela through a partnership with a private company.
The White House described the deal as providing governance rights, economic ownership, and guaranteed low-cost offtake, with the oil to be processed at U.S. refineries using American equipment and infrastructure. The administration stated in September that oil under the arrangement would likely reach U.S. facilities in November.
