WATCH: Trump Trolls Biden: ‘I Don’t Know What He Just Said’

Former President Donald Trump delivered a brutal response to a rambling statement from President Joe Biden during Thursday’s opening presidential debate, telling his rival that he “doesn’t even know what he said.”

After Biden delivered a rambling response — at times freezing up and stuttering — on a question about immigration, Trump took a brief second to stare before saying, “I really don’t know what he said at the end of that sentence and I don’t think he knows what he said either.”

Biden claimed that he is committed to securing the southern border, an issue he has consistently found himself under water on according to months of polling data.

Immediately after taking office in January, 2021, Biden immediately rolled back a number of immigration executive orders signed by Trump. The most notable Trump policy Biden opted to axe was “Remain In Mexico,” which required asylum seekers to wait in Mexico while their asylum claims are being processed. Instead, the Biden Administration has rapidly expanded the use of parole programs that lead to illegal aliens being transported to communities of their choosing across the United States.

The lenient border policies have led to record-setting illegal immigration levels in both 2022 and 2023, with illegal aliens traveling to the United States from Africa, the Middle East, China and South America. International asylum law requires asylum seekers to apply in the first “safe” country they come across, though the Biden Administration has been granting asylum claims to illegal aliens who pass through dozens of countries before entering the country.

In total, the Biden Administration has released more than 6.2 million illegal aliens into the United States. This figure does not include “gotaways,” a Border Patrol term for illegal aliens who manage to evade border security and sneak into the country.

In Trump’s response to the same question, the former president pointed to the massive spikes in illegal immigration under his successor, as well as a massive increase in illegal alien crime. One particular incident singled out by Trump was the murder of Jocelyn Nungaray, a 12-year-old girl who was raped and murder by two illegal aliens from Venezuela last week.

We had the safest border in the history of our country. The border, all he had to do was leave it,” Trump said of Biden. “All he had to do was leave it. He decided to open up our border, open up our country to people that are from prisons. People that are from mental institutions, insane asylum. Terrorists, we have the largest number of terrorists coming into our country right now.”
