Trump Files FEC Complaint After Foreign Political Party Caught Campaigning For Harris

The Trump-Vance Campaign has filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC), accusing the U.K Labour Party of making illegal contributions to the Harris-Walz Campaign.

The complaint, which was initially reported on by the BBC, cites recent media reports about ongoing coordination on campaigning and volunteering efforts between the Labour Party and the Harris-Walz Campaign. Specifically, the complaint cites news reports concerning Labour representatives who have travelled to the U.S. to campaign for the Democratic Party.

U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer did not deny the reports, stating that members of the Labour Party were volunteers “doing it in their spare time” and staying with other volunteers. Starmer further added that Labour volunteers have campaigned for Democrats in “pretty much every” U.S. presidential election.

At least 100 individuals from the U.K. — most of whom are receiving foreign funding — are currently campaigning for the Harris-Walz Campaign in the United States. In addition, a social media coordinator with the Labour Party has attempted to recruit foreign nationals for work in Nevada, Pennsylvania and other swing states.

“I have nearly 100 Labour Party staff (current and former) going to the US in the next few weeks heading to North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Virginia. I have 10 spots available for anyone available to head to the battleground state of North Carolina – we will sort your housing. Email me on [email protected] if you’re interested,” reads the message from Labour’s Sofia Patel.

Media coverage of the “volunteers,” the complaint argues, creates a “reasonable inference that the Labour Party has made, and the Harris campaign has accepted, illegal foreign national contributions.”

Last month, the Washington Post reported that senior Labour-linked strategists were advising the Harris campaign how to “earn back disaffected voters and run a winning campaign from the center left.”
