President Donald Trump paid tribute to the late Hulk Hogan after he passed away at the age of 71 on Thursday.

“We lost a great friend today, the ‘Hulkster.’ Hulk Hogan was MAGA all the way — Strong, tough, smart, but with the biggest heart,” the president announced in a Truth Social post.

“He gave an absolutely electric speech at the Republican National Convention, that was one of the highlights of the entire week. He entertained fans from all over the World, and the cultural impact he had was massive. To his wife, Sky, and family, we give our warmest best wishes and love. Hulk Hogan will be greatly missed!”

Hogan’s passing comes just over a year after he brought down the house at the Republican National Convention with a rousing speech. After taking the stage following a montage complete with his signature intro song, “Real American,” the crowd erupted into loud cheers and chants of “USA!”

Hogan then channeled his signature wrestling voice and dished out his iconic quote, beginning his speech with, “LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING, BROTHER!”

Well, let me tell you something, when I came here tonight, there was so much energy in thisroom, I felt maybe I was in Madison Square Garden getting ready to win another world title. Or maybe I thought the vibe was so intense, the energy was so crazy, it felt like maybe I was going to press that no-good, stinky giant over my head and slam him through the mat, brother,” Hogan told the crowd just days after President Trump was wounded in an assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania.

He concluded the speech with another signature move, when he ripped his shirt in half to reveal a “Trump-Vance 2024” t-shirt.

Hogan, whose given name is Terry Gene Bollea, reportedly suffered cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida. Police and emergency vehicles were seen outside his home shortly after the incident.

Tributes for the American icon have poured in from across the world of sports, entertainment, politics and beyond.

“Hulk Hogan was a great American icon. One of the first people I ever truly admired as a kid,” said Vice President JD Vance. “The last time I saw him we promised we’d get beers together next time we saw each other. The next time will have to be on the other side, my friend! Rest in peace.”

UFC great Georges St-Pierre said, “They say you should never meet your idols, but meeting Hulk Hogan made me admire him even more. He was so generous with his time and an inspiration not only as an athlete and entertainer, but also as a human being. He will be missed by us all.”

“Hulk Has Been By My Side Since We Started In The Wrestling Business. An Incredible Athlete, Talent, Friend, And Father! Our Friendship Has Meant The World To Me. He Was Always There For Me Even When I Didn’t Ask For Him To Be,” fellow wrestling legend Rick Flair posted on X. “He Was One Of The First To Visit Me When I Was In The Hospital With A 2% Chance Of Living, And He Prayed By My Bedside. Hulk Also Lent Me Money When Reid Was Sick. Hulkster, No One Will Ever Compare To You! Rest In Peace My Friend!”
