Trump Says His Son Barron Is Giving Him Political Advice
Former President Donald Trump shared a glimpse into his youngest son Barron’s burgeoning interest in politics, revealing that the 18-year-old has taken on the role of informal political advisor. Speaking on “Kayal and Company” on Philadelphia’s Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, Trump praised Barron’s intellect and described his input on political matters.
“He’s a smart one. He doesn’t have to hear much,” Trump said. “He’s a little on the tall side—I will tell you, he’s a tall one—but he’s a good-looking guy, and he’s really been a great student.” Trump also mentioned Barron’s knack for political strategy. “He’ll tell me sometimes, ‘Dad, this is what you have to do.’ So anyway, he’s a good guy.”
Barron, set to attend this summer’s Republican National Convention as a delegate from Florida, is finishing his senior year of high school and planning for college. Trump noted the changing landscape of higher education and criticized the Biden administration, hinting at challenges Barron might face.
“A lot of these choices of colleges are changing because you see what’s going on in the last month. Biden has totally lost control of the country,” Trump said. “He is the worst president in the history of our country.”

Standing at around 6 feet, 7 inches or more, Barron has maintained a low public profile compared to other members of the Trump family. Photos from family gatherings often circulate on social media, where Barron’s remarkable height alongside his father and siblings draws significant attention.
Barron will be taking a junior role in supporting his father’s campaign for president this summer. Fox News reported on Thursday that he will serve as a GOP delegate from Florida to the Republican National Convention, set to take place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin this July. Barron will be one of 41 delegates that the Sunshine State will send to officially nominate Trump as the Republican Party’s standard bearer to take on Joe Biden in November. The post will give Barron a perch to get a feel for his affinity to the political arena.
Until now, Barron has largely shied away from the campaign trail. He and his mother have worked closely on selecting a college where he will spend the next four years, with insiders saying he strongly prefers New York University over the University of Pennsylvania, Trump’s alma mater. He is set to graduate from Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach, Florida with the class of 2024 later this month, a ceremony that Trump will be allowed to attend as a reprieve from his ongoing hush money trial.
A campaign official told Fox that Barron “is very interested in our nation’s political process,” dropping a hint that the Trump dynasty may continue on even if Trump wins and completes his second and final term in office. If Barron chooses to launch a political career in Florida, he would benefit from its ruby red hue and track record of electing Republican elected officials like Governor Ron DeSantis and U.S. Sens. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Rick Scott (R-FL).
Melania Trump has remained very protective of her son and would certainly take a role in any rollout. She has insisted that her husband sit with the family for morning breakfasts and recently took Barron on a public outing for Easter breakfast. With speculation about Barron’s future brewing, some supporters have even floated the idea of a Barron Trump 2044 campaign. The former president’s comments hint at a promising political future for his youngest son, who has grown up amid the heat of the political spotlight.
