Trump Shares Touching Moment With Nervous Mother At Town Hall: ‘You Have A Beautiful Voice’

Former President Donald Trump, fresh off a rally where he sang in harmony with supporters following several medical emergencies in the crowd, made another touching gesture toward a mother who faced her fears and approached the microphone.

At a town hall in Georgia, Trump listened thoughtfully as a mother explained how her two young children are suffering after her child tax credit has decreased by almost 80%. Daycare, she said, “is roughly $1,400 a month for the lowest amount,” putting it out of reach. All the while, stubbornly high prices of gas and groceries are holding her family back from their ability to stock away much of anything for long-term savings. But that wasn’t all.

“Last year I broke my neck,” she started before Trump interrupted to compliment her. “You have a beautiful voice, by the way,” he said. “Thank you so much. I’m having a panic attack right now,” she exclaimed as the audience reacted in support. “I tried applying for any kind of assistance and I was denied because I did not make less than $700 a month… I had to go through a lot of physical therapy and I’m still having a lot of issues to this day.” She asked what kind of “realistic changes” President Trump can provide to “afford children in today’s world.”

President Trump shared a story about his daughter Ivanka, saying she “drove me crazy” about pursuing long-term strategies for reining in the cost of childcare. “She was driving me crazy to bring these child tax credits, then I did it and I got it just about done – ‘Dad, you’ve gotta double it up!'” he told the crowd to more laughter.

Cost of living is barely tailing immigration as a concern top of mind among most voters this election, an issue that traditionally favors Democrats though has been split given President Biden’s inability to bring down the price of goods and services. In response, Vice President Harris has suggested she will institute price controls on corporations, blaming “greedflation” and “shrinkflation” for the problem rather than the printing of money. “It’s not fair to everybody,” Trump added about the cost of childcare. “Republicans rightfully don’t do it because we never get credit for that. We’re not known for that.” That, however, will change in a second Trump administration.

The gender gap among women is the only voting bloc managing to keep Harris treading water. Observers say the campaign may hinge on how just several thousand white women in swing states decide to vote. “We’re seeing such a huge divide [between men and women], that it really is becoming a women’s election,” Jackie Payne, founder and executive director of Galvanize Action, told NBC News. “And so we see both Harris and Trump vying for moderate white women’s vote.”
