Trump Skewers ‘Very Disloyal’ Paul Ryan, Calls On Fox News To Cut Ties

Former President Donald Trump has called on Fox Corp. to remove former House Speaker Paul Ryan from its board of directors.

“Nobody can ever trust Fox News, and I am one of them, with the weak and ineffective RINO, Paul Ryan, on its Board of Directors,” the former president wrote in a Truth Social post on Wednesday. “He’s a total lightweight, a failed and pathetic Speaker of the House, and a very disloyal person.”

Trump went on to compare Ryan — who served as House speaker during the early years of Trump’s presidency — to outgoing Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT). “Romney was bad, but Paul Ryan made him look worse,” Trump wrote. “As a team, they never had a chance.”

The former president went on to call on former Fox Corp. Chairman Rupert Murdoch, as well as his son, CEO Lachlan Murdoch, to “get that dog off” the board.

“You don’t need him. ALL YOU NEED IS TRUMP. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” his post said.

Ryan has repeatedly stated that he will not be voting for Trump in November and will be writing in another Republican’s name instead. “I do think character is a really important issue. If you put yourself above the Constitution, as he has done, I think that makes you unfit for office,” Ryan said during a recent interview with Fox News’ Neil Cavuto.

“And the fact that if you’re willing to put yourself above the Constitution, an oath you swear when you take office in federal office — whether it’s president or a member of Congress, you swear an oath to the Constitution — and if you’re willing to suborn it to yourself, I think that makes you unfit for office,” Ryan went on to say of Trump.

The former speaker did not provide examples of Trump’s alleged desire to subvert the constitution, a claim frequently made by the Biden campaign based on doctored clips.
