Trump Threatens NYC’s Zohran Mamdani With Arrest

President Donald Trump vowed to arrest Zohran Mamdani, the pro-communist New York City mayoral frontrunner, if he gets elected and proceeds to interfere with federal immigration enforcement operations.

“Your beloved New York City may well be led by a communist soon, Zorhan Mandami, who in his nomination speech said he will defy ICE and will not allow ICE to arrest criminal aliens in New York City. Your message to communist Zorhan Mandami?” Trump was asked while speaking with reporters in Florida on Tuesday.

“Well, then we’ll have to arrest him,” the president replied without hesitation. “Look, we don’t need a communist in this country, but if we have one, I’m going to be watching over him very carefully on behalf of the nation. We send him money, we send him all the things that he needs to run a government. And by the way, they get already, they get about three times what you get, Ron. If you look at the per capita, Florida gets one third of what New York gets in terms of the numbers,” Trump said while turning to Florisa Governor Ron DeSantis.

The president also addressed concerns over Mamdani’s background, as the communist candidate only became a citizen of the United States less than 10 years ago. Before that, he had several failed vanity careers, including a stint as a rap artist, that were bankrolled by his wealthy parents.

We’re going to be watching that very carefully and a lot of people saying he’s here illegally, he’s, you know, we’re going to look at everything. But, and ideally, he’s going to turn out to be much less than a communist. But right now he’s a communist. That’s not a socialist.”

Mamdani has indeed expressed support for communist ideology on numerous occasions.

In one infamous post from December 2020, Mamdani reposted a tweet celebrating the election of a communist mayoral candidate in India. “Comrade Arya Rajendran, age 21 new Mayor of Thiruvananthapuram , Kerala. She will be the youngest mayor of a major city in the world. Here she leads a detachment of Red Volunteers,” reads the post, which was posted from an official communist party account.

“Them: what kind of mayor does NYC need right now?” Mamdani reposted before confirming that he was endorsing this kind of leadership.

Mamdani, who gained U.S. citizenship just eight years ago, has been described as “not American” by his own mother. “He is not an American at all. He was born in Uganda, raised between India and America. He is at home in many places. He thinks of himself as a Ugandan and as an Indian,” Mamdani’s mother, Mira Nair, told the Hindustan Times.

In a follow-up post, President Trump trolled the Democratic Party by offering suggestions on how they can build on the pro-communist candidate’s rise and right the ship at the national level.

In his nomination speech, Mamdani vowed to combat “Trump’s fascism” by vowing to openly flaunt federal immigration law.

In a link on his campaign website, Mamdani says his administration, should he become mayor, would focus on getting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) out of New York City facilities, end cooperation with the agency, protect personal data from outside jurisdictions and “bolster legal support” for immigrants.

“Donald Trump is tearing at the fabric of New York City in his second term. He has deployed ICE agents to pluck New Yorkers from their families,” Mamdani said on his website.
