Tucker Carlson GOES OFF After New House Resolution Aims To Put Zelensky Monument In House Chamber

Congressman Joe Wilson of South Carolina, a conservative Republican, has introduced House Resolution 10, which would, if passed, put a bust of Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky in the chamber of the House of Representatives. The short text of Rep. Wilson’s resolution says:

Directing the Fine Arts Board to obtain a bust of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, for display in the House of Representatives wing of the United States Capitol.

Resolved, That the House of Representatives directs the Fine Arts Board to obtain a bust of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, for display in a suitable, permanent location in the House of Representatives wing of the United States Capitol.

So far, the resolution has only been referred to the House Committee on House Administration. However, Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson is already on the warpath against it. Watch him sound off on the Zelensky bust bill here:

As you can hear in the video, Tucker, shredding the idea of sticking a bust of the leader of a foreign nation in the House Chamber in the US Capitol, describing the move as “insane,” particularly given Zelensky’s recent dictator-like moves, such as his banning of the Russian Orthodox Church and banning of opposition parties. Making that point, Tucker said:

“So members of Congress who are again decent people are now trying to spend your money on a monument to a foreign leader in the US Capitol. That’s insane. And of course, that foreign leader is President Zelensky of Ukraine who was dictatorial. It’s not even a democratic country. He banned opposition parties trying to ban an entire Christian denomination.”

But that wasn’t all. Continuing, Tucker went to point out that Rep. Joe Wilson is actually pretty conservative, making his introducing the resolution sad, and then mocking the obeisance shown toward Zelensky and joking that the House of Representatives with “worship” the bust daily. In Tucker’s words:

“The person leading this charge, sad to say, is a really nice guy who’s pretty conservative. Actually, Joe Wilson, himself a South Carolina Republican member, he’s just sponsored legislation to display a bust of a foreign leader Zelensky in the Capitol building. The legislation he’s putting forward would ensure that Zelensky’s bust is on display, quote, in a suitable permanent location in the House of Representatives wing so we can worship him daily. This is crazy. Let’s hope we pull back”

People commenting on the Columbia Bugle post largely agreed with Tucker in pushing back against Zelensky worship, saying things like:

“Next up: Replace Lincoln memorial with Zelenskyy Statue and change the US flag to Ukraine flag.”

“FWIW: @RepJoeWilson – your constituents do not support this; at best it is an empty display. It is also an expenditure that could be put towards any number of classes of suffering Americans. And, it is offensive to put a sculpture of another nation’s leader in the Capitol.”

“They’ve taken down statues of our historical figures right or wrong, to put up Zelensky who is doing war atrocities against people/religion in his war-torn country. This is so wrong is to many ways.”
