Tucker Carlson Speaks Out On Epstein Controversy, Offers ‘Most Plausible’ Explanation

The fallout from the Trump administration’s reneging of disclosures in the government’s investigation into Jeffrey Epstein reverberated on Tuesday, as Tucker Carlson laid out several startling theories about why President Donald Trump may have changed his mind.

According to the former Fox News host, there are “only two explanations” for why U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel no longer stand behind a past promise to release “thousands” of pages of documents and “tens of thousands” of hours of video footage produced during the investigation into Epstein, who died by hanging in 2019 while awaiting charges on underage human trafficking.

The firestorm ignited on Sunday when the U.S. Justice Department released a statement concluding there is “no credible evidence that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals,” including some of those named on flight logs detailing who traveled with him on his private jet.

Outrage was swift, with MAGA corners of the internet expressing incredulity after Bondi in May alleged she was sifting through stacks of previously unreleased documents and videotapes detailing the worst of Epstein’s crimes.

On Monday, the White House backed up Bondi, asserting that no alleged “client” list of rich and powerful abusers was ever found.

Carlson, speaking with political analyst Saagar Enjeti, posited that there are only two possible explanations for the investigation’s sea change.

“I think this is a big deal,” Carlson told his guest during the two-hour program. “It’s a really big deal.”

“I hope so,” Enjeti responded.

“Well, I hope so, too, actually,” Carlson continued. “So let’s just assess this logically. … The current DOJ under Pam Bondi is covering up crimes, very serious crimes, by their own description. Why are they doing that?”

“So there are really only two potential explanations that I can think of, maybe you’ve got another. The first is that Trump is involved, that Trump is on the [client] list, they’ve got tape of Trump doing something awful.”

Carlson quickly added that he does not subscribe to the theory, proffered by Elon Musk, that Trump knew or participated in Epstein’s nefarious crimes. He pointed out that former President Joe Biden, who oversaw the investigation for four years, never leaked damaging information despite Trump’s clear intention to try and return to the White House.

“So the only explanation that I could think of, and again maybe you’ve got another, is that intel services are at the very center of this story, U.S. and Israeli,” Carlson continued. “And they’re being protected. I think that seems like the is the most plausible …”

“It’s the most obvious [theory],” replied Enjeti, drawing a connection between the opaque investigation and ham-handed CIA controversies during Trump’s time in public life.

“Well, when they want to crush you, they put kiddie porn on your computer,” Carlson added, per the Western Journal. “It’s why I don’t have a computer. Don’t own one. That’s why.”

Followers of the Epstein case have their hopes pinned on President Trump making a final determination in the case, and he is known to overrule aides in the past. Bondi and Patel are among the loudest voices arguing that further disclosures would implicate innocent parties who suffered collateral damage in Epstein’s orbit.

To Trump, that may not be reason enough to keep the full truth from coming out.
