UFC Featherweight Bryce Mitchell told Tucker Carlson that he met his wife as a result of his appearance on his show in 2022. Mitchell also revealed that the couple is expecting a son named “Tucker.”
Mitchell first appeared on Carlson’s show in March 2022 after his thoughts on the war in Ukraine went viral. When asked about the conflict at a UFC pre-fight press conference, Mitchell stated that the U.S. should not get involved in foreign wars while American citizens are struggling.
He added that he would die to defend the homeland if attacked and also drew attention to the Biden family’s shady business dealings in Ukraine.
Mitchell — who will be fighting on the main card opener of UFC 296 on Saturday night — once again sat down with Tucker Carlson for an interview earlier this week, in which he revealed how his initial appearance on the then-Fox News program changed his life.
“It starts with about four years ago, me being a broken, lost person who needed guidance and needed wisdom, and I turned my life to Christ. The first thing I did when I turned my life to Christ is I prayed for a wife basically every day,” the UFC Featherweight began.
“And it was months, and months and months, maybe even a year went by. And it was just, I could not find the right woman that I clicked with. And I’m I’m kind of crazy so it takes that right woman you know what I mean?” Mitchell said, drawing laughs from Carlson. “I know the feeling,” he said.
The rising UFC star then revealed that after the appearance on Carlson’s show, he gained thousands of new followers and had more exposure than ever before. He then received a message from a woman in Pennsylvania and “bonded over our hatred of the government.”
“And now that woman is my wife, now she is pregnant, I’ll be having a kid in four months, the first kid,” Mitchell revealed. “And now here’s where the story gets even better. We were arguing over what to name the kid, and he’s going to be a boy. It’s a boy. We couldn’t pick a name, and she said to me, ‘what do you think about the name Tucker?’ I said, ‘I love that name.’ So my first boy’s name will be Tucker.”
Mitchell will be appearing on the main card of UFC 296 after a fight between Middleweight contenders Ian Garry and Vicente Luque was scratched earlier this week.
