VIDEO: Abdul El-Sayed’s Sister Confirms The Worst In New Undercover Clip

Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed has spent months telling voters he is a capitalist who simply wants stronger rules against monopolies. A newly-released undercover video from his sister appears to undercut that message, however.

At the Socialism 2026 Conference in Chicago, University of Chicago professor Eman Abdelhadi identified herself as El-Sayed’s sister while speaking with an attendee. In the video, which was obtained by The Midwesterner, the attendee mentioned a nephew who had grown uneasy after hearing El-Sayed call himself a capitalist

“Don’t worry about that,” the attendee said. “Abdul is not a f**king capitalist.” Abdelhadi replied, “Yeah. All we care about is the policies at this point.”

When the attendee added that the goal was “getting him in,” she answered, “Exactly.”

In an undercover video obtained exclusively by The Midwesterner, Abdul El-Sayed's sister, Eman Abdelhadi, confirms he's not a capitalist.

El-Sayed has repeatedly claimed that he rejects the “socialist” label. Despite this, he has received endorsements from a number of far-left organizations and has campaigned with admirers of communism, including leftist content creator Hasan Piker.

“I’m not a socialist, I’m just a capitalist who understands how capitalism works,” El-Sayed told WJBK this past July. He claimed that his issues are with monopolies and that increased government regulation is the key to his view of capitalism.

His platform includes Medicare for All, abolishing ICE, and tighter control of large corporations. He has headlined Democratic Socialists of America events, including a 2019 Detroit fundraiser where organizers called him a longtime friend of the chapter.

Abdelhadi also has notable ties to far-left causes and networks. She is a self-described queer Muslim activist who has written about moving “out of capitalism to a stateless, communized society,” called for abolishing the police, and faces felony charges after an anti-ICE protest. She has posted in support of her brother’s campaign even as El-Sayed has avoided featuring their shared mother in ads.

The Midwesterner report comes just days after El-Sayed once again admitted that he is a far-left candidate who is simply pretending to be more moderate to win a general election campaign.
