VIDEO: Whoopi Goldberg Snaps At Ana Navarro For Interrupting JD Vance

During Vice President JD Vance’s highly-anticipated appearance on ABC’s “The View” on Tuesday, Whoopi Goldberg was involved in a testy exchange with co-host Ana Navarro over constant interruptions that ran past the program’s ad breaks.

Vance joined the show’s full panel of co-host — Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro—to discuss his new memoir, Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith. The book, released the same day, explores his personal journey, including his conversion to Catholicism and aspects of his life and family.

This marked Vance’s debut on the program. Producers and hosts had sought an appearance for some time. Goldberg opened by noting the show’s prior efforts to book him. The conversation covered the memoir alongside current issues such as the economy, immigration policy and the Trump Administration’s goals.

Vance — who has garnered a reputation for handling adversarial interviews well — defended the administration’s record on wage growth, immigration and a massive reduction in crime across the nation’s largest cities. All in all, the conversation remained largely civil, even when the show’s left-wing hosts asked questions about U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) policies and other contentious issues.

Tension arose late in the segment as the show approached a commercial break. Navarro continued pressing a follow-up question on issues related to recognizing black history in America while Goldberg attempted to transition.

“I’ve got to, I have to go to break,” Goldberg said as the ad break approached. Navarro continued to talk and interrupt the vice president, however, at which point Goldberg snapped.

The co-host could be seen raising her hands to her face before saying, “Ana, God, please!”

Still not enough, Navarro continued to speak and appeared to largely ignore Goldberg. “We have more with Vice President JD Vance when we come back.” Turning to Navarro, she added, “Don’t do that!” The show then cut to commercial.
