WATCH: Behind-The-Scenes Clip Shows Trump Watching Kamala’s DNC Speech, Posting His Live Reactions

Behind-the-scenes video from former President Donald Trump’s inner circle confirms that he was keenly interested in Vice President Kamala Harris’s acceptance speech, working alongside an aide to post his reactions in real-time.

A two-minute clip produced by Art of the Surge, a pro-Trump docuseries, shows the 45th president taking shots at Harris while surrounded by friends, family members, and staff in what appears to be a hotel suite. “What a rant. Is she crazy?” Trump asks as he takes a swig from his Coca-Cola bottle. “Too many thank-you’s… must be 35,” he said incredulously after Harris repeated the phrase ad nauseam before an adoring crowd at the Democratic National Convention. He posted an almost identical message shortly afterward, writing on Truth Social, “Too many ‘thank yous,’ too rapidly said, what’s going on with her?”

Trump can also be heard asking about how many viewers at home were watching Harris’s speech on August 23rd, which drew an estimated 26.2 million according to Nielsen. In the clip, he rebukes Harris for referencing San Francisco, saying she “destroyed” the city as its district attorney with lenient criminal policies. He also knocked her focus on her backstory, which has changed over the years. “A lot of talk about childhood. We’ve got to get to the Border, Inflation, and Crime. Why didn’t she do something about the things about which she complains?” he said, both thoughts which later appeared on Truth Social.

When Harris pivoted her speech into attack mode, calling Trump an “unserious man,” the Republican replied simply, “Oh” before firing off a real-time jab of his own. His various criminal trials at the time “were all started by her and Biden against their Political Opponent, ME,” Trump said as his female aide transcribed the message. An enthusiastic Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is seen nodding along as Trump accused Harris of raising bail to help Black Lives Matter rioters in Minnesota avoid jail time. Another aide shows him a news article faulting her for the chaos. “I love it, put it right in there with the other stuff,” he exclaims.

“Art of the Surge” promises to be a tell-all docuseries from the perspective of the Trump campaign chronicling his third, and likely final, bid for the White House. Producers have released four half-hour episodes so far, all available for free on the project’s X account, including video footage from 15 feet away when Trump was nearly assassinated in Butler, Pennsylvania. The candid moments are a rare window into Trump’s inner circle and behind-the-scenes behavior, the latter of which is often cited by both allies and foes when crediting his ability to influence and persuade.
