WATCH: Biden Rubs His Forehead On Pope Francis In Extremely Bizarre Moment

President Joe Biden is closing out the week with what may be a record-breaking number of bizarre moments caught on camera in such a short period. His latest involves none other than His Holiness Pope Francis who sat helplessly as the leader of the free world got a bit too up close and personal.

More than 100 celebrities gathered at the Vatican in Rome to meet the leader of the Catholic Church who called on emissaries with the “power to spread serenity and smiles” in a world beset by “many social and personal emergencies” according to the BBC. An hour later, Francis traveled to the G7 Summit in Italy for a private gathering with world leaders that became perhaps a little too intimate.

President Biden, who is Catholic, stretched out his hand to the wheelchair-bound Pope in a clip on X showing the encounter. Leaning over, the president attempts to touch his forehead on Francis’ head, leaving the pontiff looking extremely uncomfortable before he was wheeled away.

This week alone, President Biden has managed to fit half a year’s worth of strange behaviors into less than a week, an unwelcome achievement even by his own standard for stumbles and misstatements. While at the G7, Biden also wandered away from a crowd while attempting to take a photo before a good samaritan turned him around, leading a spokeswoman to label the viral clip an example of “right-wing misinformation” plaguing his reelection campaign. Days earlier, he appeared to keel over while on a stage with the Royal Family and the president of France, prompting First Lady Dr. Jill Biden to quickly rush him away from the ceremony.

Americans have equally soured on Pope Francis for years as they point to his selection of an abortion advocate to lead a Catholic protection of life group and urging Christians to repent for praising a Pagan deity. At the same time, the Pope’s politics don’t fit neatly on the right-left spectrum: earlier this year the Vatican released a scathing assessment of gender ideology in one of its latest reports.

Adding insult to injury, Catholic voters prefer former President Donald Trump to Biden by a wide margin, Fox News reported. In a head-to-head matchup, polls from earlier this year found that 55% of Catholics would support the former president, with the largest change occurring among Hispanic Catholics. Four years ago, Hispanic Catholic voters supported Biden over Trump by a staggering 67%-27% margin; today Biden’s lead sits at just 2%, or a 49%-47% split.
