WATCH: Bill Hemmer Laughs In Kamala Spokesman’s Face Over Excuse For Biden’s DNC Humiliation
Harris Campaign spokesman Michael Tyler was nearly laughed out of the room during a Fox News interview Tuesday morning where he unhelpfully tried to blame a late showing by President Joe Biden on just how enthusiastic the DNC’s Monday night crowd was in its applause.
Appearing alongside Bill Hemmer, Tyler dismissed criticisms by former Biden staff members that the president didn’t take the stage until almost midnight on the east coast, giving what many considered to be a farewell address. Hemmer highlighted an X post by reporter Alex Thompson who spoke with a Biden aide who ripped Democratic National Convention organizers for allowing the program to run disastrously past its scheduled time. “This is awful. He literally set up a campaign and handed it over to them — do they have to cut him out of prime time?” the staffer confided to Thompson.

“I think what you saw last night, there’s no doubt that we got a little behind schedule. But the fact of the matter is you had speaker after speaker after speaker that was interrupted with applause after applause after applause, and it’s because as you saw last night a Democratic Party that’s united in its gratitude to President Biden, united for their enthusiasm of Kamala Harris, and united in their enthusiasm for this election,” Tyler claimed before launching into talking points about the campaign. Hemmer didn’t buy it.
“So too many people clapping for too long, is that what it was?” the host laughed incredulously. “Are we to buy that?” He noted that the Republican National Convention last month had plans in place to “cut things out” if the program ran over time. “That wasn’t the case last night,” he noted. “It actually was the case last night,” Tyler sputtered back. “We had to cut a few things in order to get to the president as quickly as possible.”
WATCH:
Biden and his top advisors are still seething from the “coup” brought on him by other top leaders in the party, including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), former President Barack Obama, and top donors who issued ultimatums that the party force Biden from the race or lose out on their largesse. In later interviews, Pelosi essentially admitted to committing power moves that she claimed would put her party in a better position to win the presidency and control of the House, a top priority for her. Biden himself has stated in interviews since dropping out last month that he faced tremendous headwinds if he tried to remain in the race.
On Monday night, Harris made a surprise appearance where she asked attendees to “celebrate our incredible president, Joe Biden.” She added, “Joe, thank you for your historic leadership, your lifetime of service to our nation, and all you will continue to do.”
