WATCH: Byron Donalds Shuts Down Unhinged Liberal Protestor: ‘I’m Gonna Be Your Governor!’

Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) is already itching for a fight with liberal activists trying to scare him out of his state’s governor’s race next year.

The conservative Republican on Saturday wasn’t afraid to confront left-wing protestors who came out in force for a public demonstration Elon Musk and the Trump administration. Video of the encounter shows multiple female agitators shouting over one another as they attempted to engage with Donalds, with one referring to him as a “fascist” and a “race traitor.”

“As a member of Congress… I want you to support LGBTQ youth and stand up to this f***ing insane attack on our children,” a visibly angry protestor yells while pointing aggressively at Donalds, who waits patiently before replying.

“Number one–”

“No, not number one! Because you’re a fascist!” the white woman interrupts. “You’re a race traitor!”

“I said I don’t agree, and then you start yelling at me. You call me a fascist? You call me a race traitor, and you want me to agree with you?” Donalds fires back. “I’m a constitutionalist.”

The angry protestor wasn’t hearing it.

“Get the f*** out of here,” she yelled.

But Donalds had the best quip of the interaction.

“I’m gonna be your governor, trust me!”

That really set off the ladies, who are seen losing their cool in the clip’s final seconds.

Donalds, a longtime ally of President Donald Trump, is widely believed to be running to succeed Gov. Ron DeSantis without serious opposition. Although DeSantis has privately been urging Florida donors to refrain from backing Donalds while his wife mulls her own campaign, the delays haven’t had much effect on the congressman’s ability to clear the field.

One month after announcing his candidacy, Donalds pulled in a jaw-dropping $12 million in donations. That includes donations to an affiliated political committee, Friends of Byron Donalds, according to FL Politics.

Some of Florida’s biggest Republican donors are behind the third-term representative: He received a $5 million check from billionaire businessman Jeff Yass and a $1 million contribution from Richard Uihlein, the owner of business supply company Uline.

His penchant for pugnacious behavior has thrust Donalds into made-for-TV moments on camera that served to elevate his profile over his first two terms. As one of the U.S. House’s black Republicans, he is frequently invited to quarrel on-air with white, liberal cable news guests.

He was first elected following the high-profile protests in response to the 2020 death of George Floyd.

“The race is going wonderfully. We raised $12 million last month. We are picking up support all across the state from the people of Florida. And then to be able to add the support of Speaker Mike Johnson to President Trump is really something that’s monumental for our campaign and for our efforts,” Donalds said in a recent interview.

He added there “is more support on the way” and that “the campaign is growing.”

“We got a lot of momentum and our job is simple, build momentum through the primary election, and then lead Florida into the future of making sure it continues to be the best state in America,” he said.
