WATCH: CNN Panel Laughs Uncontrollably At Squad Democrats’ ‘Rally’ Against Trump, Musk

A Democratic rally aimed at condemning Elon Musk and his alleged influence over the financial system turned into an embarrassing spectacle Tuesday, with even CNN’s panel unable to keep a straight face as they mocked the event’s chaotic messaging. Democratic lawmakers, including Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) and Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), joined dozens of protesters outside the Department of the Treasury in Washington, railing against what they described as Musk’s “hostile takeover” of the government’s financial infrastructure.

The event, filled with incendiary rhetoric, bizarre statements, and a notable lack of coherence, quickly backfired. As clips of the rally aired on CNN, panelists struggled to contain their laughter, openly ridiculing the Democrats for their lack of leadership and direction.

Rep. Pressley delivered a cringeworthy warning to Republicans, saying, “If you do not see the light, we will bring the fire. Resist!”

“Tell Elon Musk to take his hands off your money,” Rep.  Chris Murphy (D-CT) declared. “We don’t pledge allegiance to the creepy 22-year-olds working for Elon Musk. We pledge allegiance to the United States of America.”

“We will win! We will win! We will win!” Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) started chanting. Then, switching to: “We won’t rest! We won’t rest!”

CNN’s panel, watching the clips, couldn’t help but mock the lack of coherence. After the footage aired, CNN host Abby Phillip struggled to suppress laughter.

“Can we play it again?” Scott Jennings joked.

Gretchen Carlson, another panelist, tore into the Democratic Party’s failures. “The Democrats need a real leader, okay? They need a real leader, which currently does not exist in the Democratic Party,” she said bluntly.

“They have been caught completely flat-footed with the entire Trump presidency for the last two weeks,” she continued. “I said on CNN months ago that Elon Musk would be the most influential advisor to President Trump, and that is proving to be true, whether you like it or not,” she pointed out.

Democratic lawmakers and protesters gathered outside the U.S. Treasury Department on Tuesday, condemning Musk’s growing influence over the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). While critics argue his role is an overreach, supporters contend that his unconventional approach could significantly streamline federal operations.

Leading the charge was Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), who criticized Musk for wielding substantial influence despite holding no elected office. Senators Chris Murphy (D-CT) and Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) echoed her concerns, warning against the power of an unelected business magnate shaping government policy.

The protest is part of Democratic pushback against recent Trump administration moves, including dismantling the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and imposing tariffs on China.

Musk, meanwhile, has aggressively slashed federal spending. His cost-cutting measures have included shutting down USAID, eliminating bureaucratic redundancies, and streamlining government functions. He’s also pushing for deregulation and direct access to Treasury payment systems to accelerate fiscal policy changes.
