WATCH: Crowd Goes Wild When Rep. Byron Donalds Claims The Bronx As ‘MAGA Country’

U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) drew a massive roar from the packed crowd in The Bronx, New York when introducing former President Donald Trump ahead of his highly anticipated rally in the historically blue stronghold.

Listen, the word is that Donald J. Trump’s going to be here in a couple of minutes. That’s the word,” Donalds said, drawing cheers from the crowd. “And so I think it’s really important right now to let all of New York know that the Bronx is now MAGA country!”

The cheering then got significantly louder as some rallygoers erupted into chants of “we love Trump!”

All through this country, Joe Biden and the crazy Democrats are destroying America. All through this country, they are raising prices more than you can afford. They are limiting our ability to actually make our own energy here in the United States so we can prosper,” Donalds told the crowd. They leave our borders open and flood all of our cities including New York City with migrants who shouldn’t be here. They are not leading on the world stage and our enemies are on the move. They are suppressing your free speech. They are lying to you. They are cheating you out of the prosperity that should be yours.

“But in about five months there is one guy who’s going to turn all that around, and he’s the 47th President, Donald J. Trump!”

After weeks of hinting at rallies in deep blue New York, Trump has stayed true to his word and will be holding a historic rally at Crotona Park, deep in the heart of the historically Democrat stronghold of The Bronx. The former president has been stuck in New York on weekdays over the last month, as Judge Juan Merchan has ordered him to attend every day of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s dubious “hush money” case against him.

Trump has used his time in New York City to meet with supporters, world leaders, and visit establishments impacted by crime in the city’s poorest neighborhoods.

Thursday will mark the first time Trump is holding an official rally in the city, however.

After a brief but intense rainstorm passed through earlier in the day, the weather cleared up after about an hour. Thousands of supporters and curious New York residents then flooded the park, creating a line stretching multiple city two blocks nearly three hours before the former president was set to arrive.

Trump ultimately took the stage shortly before 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time and was greeted by chants of “USA!”

This is a developing story. Stay in touch with Trending Politics News for additional coverage of the rally.
