WATCH: Democrat Senator Loses It Over Memes Posted By Kash Patel In Hilarious Clip
Democrat Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) lost his composure during a Senate hearing, upset over a meme shared by Kash Patel, President Donald Trump’s pick to lead the FBI. In a somewhat heated back-and-forth, Whitehouse accused Patel of pushing the idea that FBI agents were responsible for violence on January 6th, a claim Patel denied.
Patel has been a staunch Trump ally and a critic of the FBI’s handling of the Russia collusion hoax and January 6th. The FBI nominee had shared a provocative video on Truth Social where he humorously chainsawed those critical of Trump, such as CNN and other liberal media outlets, and politicians.
The meme caught the attention of the Senate Judiciary Committee, who criticized it as evidence of his being “dangerous and unqualified” for the role of FBI Director. “Is that you, Kash Patel, re-truthed, re-posting that at the top of that page?” Whitehouse asked.
“Senator, I had nothing to do with the creation of that meme,” Patel responded.
“Is that you re-posting it was my question,” Whitehouse asked again.
“That’s me at the top,” Patel calmly responded.

During their discussion, Sheldon Whitehouse challenged Patel on his previous assertion that FBI agents were definitively involved in the January 6th violence, a claim Patel denied. Whitehouse refused to let Patel elaborate, saying that an Inspector Attorney General investigation had already debunked Patel’s assertions.
“That’s completely incorrect, and I appreciate the opportunity to address that,” said Patel.
Instead of giving him a chance to respond, Whitehouse cut him off, saying, “I’ll give you an opportunity in writing, but this is my time now.”
“Have at it,” Patel jabbed.
Whitehouse then criticized him for his comments suggesting that judges who rule against Trump, whom he labeled as “political terrorists,” should be impeached. He also referenced a judge’s assessment from a Colorado case, stating Patel was not a “credible witness” and his testimony lacked logic and evidence. Whitehouse urged his colleagues to seriously consider these issues.
“This is a dangerous time and I ask all my colleagues to consider whether these plain comments by this person, and by his own Trump administration colleagues should be I just overlooked, or whether like the warnings of pardoning violent January 6 offenders,” Whitehouse finished.
On Tuesday, the Senate Judiciary Democrats tweeted the meme, writing, “Kash Patel, Donald Trump’s pick for FBI Director, shared an AI-generated video of himself chainsawing Members of Congress, political opponents, and media outlets.”
“Dangerous and disqualified,” the post claimed.
X users quickly pointed out the left’s hypocrisy when it came to political imagery. The reaction shows a clear divide.

One user posted the infamous photo of comedian Kathy Griffin holding a bloodied Trump head, captioning it: “And yet the entire left celebrated this.” This comparison highlights the selective outrage from Democrats, who had little issue with violent anti-Trump imagery but are now clutching their pearls over a meme.
Others were even more direct. Another user didn’t hold back, writing, “It’s a meme, you retards. This is why you lost the election,” in a critique of the left’s priorities. Another user, Patty, dismissed the controversy entirely: “Democrats have no sense of humor. That’s why late night talk shows are dead.”
