In a recent press conference, Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen humorously responded to a reporter’s attempt to criticize the “lack of diversity” in a new Danish production. The film, set in Denmark in the 1750s, naturally features a predominantly Nordic cast, reflecting the historical and geographical context of the story.

The reporter began by pointing out the film’s Nordic-centric cast and production, suggesting that it might not align with the new diversity rules implemented in Hollywood.

However, before the reporter could finish, Mikkelsen interjected with a simple, “What are you on to?”

Director Nikolaj Arcel went on to explain, “Well, first of all, the film takes place in Denmark in the 1750s.”
