WATCH: Former Starbucks CEO Goes Off On Democrats’ Union Agenda, “I Came From Nothing”

Former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz found himself in the hot seat during a recent hearing with Senators Ed Markey and Tina Smith (both Democrats). The two senators accused Schultz of not understanding workers’ protections and rights, comparing their struggles to those of Schultz’s own father.

Throughout the hearing, it was clear that the senators’ questioning was part of a broader effort to scrutinize billionaires and their impact on society, rather than question the former CEO. Schultz slammed the Democrats’ questions and argued that unions are not the answer to every worker’s problems.

Sen. Markey condescendingly told Schultz, “You just fundamentally just don’t understand. These workers are just like your father and they have no rights.”

Schultz fired right back, “You don’t understand. My father was a World World II veteran, fought for this country…You don’t understand.

Schultz pushed back, citing his own upbringing as proof of the value of hard work and determination. He also emphasized that he has shared his success with the people of Starbucks. He remained resolute in his defense of hard work and determination, arguing that his success is proof of the American Dream.

“I grew up in federally subsidized housing,” Schultz explained. “My parents never owned a home…I came from nothing…yes I have billions of dollars. I earned it. No one gave it me. And I’ve shared it constantly with the people of Starbucks.”

Schultz, a prominent American businessman and the former CEO of Starbucks, is known for his philanthropy and political activism. Starbucks offers a range of benefits to its employees, including healthcare, tuition reimbursement, and stock options. The company also offers opportunities for advancement and career growth.
