WATCH: Geraldo Rivera Shocks Fans With Gushing Trump Praise

On Monday, controversial media personality Geraldo Rivera surprised the masses by heaping glowing praise on President Donald Trump during an appearance on NewsNation. Rivera has, for many years now, been a fairly dedicated critic of the president, but has seemingly shifted his tone.

Rivera lauded President Trump and his efforts to apply pressure to Russia to enter peace talks to bring its war with Ukraine to an end.

“I again am so proud of President Trump for making this effort,” Rivera stated during the interview. “I really believe that he’s trying and that the world will see that Russia, in some ways, is a paper tiger,” he continued.

The former Fox News contributor then pointed out the imbalance in population between Russia and the West.

“One hundred and thirty million Russians, 450 million Europeans, 330 million Americans, I think the math is on our side,” he remarked.

“Russia is not what Russia was when it was the Soviet Union, and we have to stop thinking of Putin as being this boogie man, larger than life, that can keep us up at night,” Rivera added.

A few hours before Rivera made his positive comments concerning Trump’s meeting with Putin, a poll showed that folks were very happy with the move. The survey from InsiderAdvantage, conducted after the summit last week in Alaska, had Trump’s approval rating at 54 percent.

Out of all those surveyed, only 44 percent were not on board with the decision.

“Donald Trump now has an advantage among every age group other than the most senior of voters,” pollster Matt Towery stated, commenting on the results.

“He has improved his numbers among African-Americans and Hispanic-Latinos. White voters are at a near record 64 percent,” Towery continued.

This has many of Rivera’s critics wondering if Rivera saw the numbers and decided to jump aboard the winning team. After all, they pointed out, Rivera once referred to the president as a “sore loser who cannot be trusted to honor the Constitution.”

According to the Western Journal, the former television host said just before the 2024 presidential election, “… I am voting for Kamala Harris to be our 47th President.” The article took a look further back to September 2022, when he placed the blame on Trump for undermining trust in American elections.

The piece questions Rivera’s motives for suddenly tossing praise toward President Trump, wondering if he’s simply doing so to once again become part of the president’s orbit or trying to increase his relevance.
