WATCH: Greg Gutfeld Explodes On Jessica Tarlov, Leaves Her Speechless
President Donald Trump might very call into the next episode of “The Five” and congratulate Greg Gutfeld personally for throwing the book at Jessica Tarlov after the liberal co-host mounted a desperate defense of anchor babies.
Tarlov was left speechless after briefly engaging with Gutfeld about the president’s decision to revoke birthright citizenship for the children of immigrants. His executive order on Monday was challenged in court less than 24 hours later as Democratic state attorneys general sought to enforce a provision in the 14th Amendment they argue provides sweeping citizenship to all children born in U.S. states and territories.
“Americans voted for it, that’s the difference,” Gutfeld argued, contrasting Trump’s action with former President Joe Biden’s decision to ease access along the southern border. “I’m just telling you the reality.”
Sensing an opening, Tarlov then asked the conservative co-host whether he “voted to revoke birthright citizenship” for immigrants “who are here legally,” which caused Gutfeld to ask whether she actually knew what the term means.
“I think when Donald Trump was talking about it and disparaging people over here, he was talking about undocumented people who come and drop their anchor babies. He wasn’t talking about people who are students here, people who are on H1-B visas…”
“You’re always going to choose this weird exception! The fact is the system is being gamed,” Gutfeld cut in.
“The fact is, Americans voted for Donald Trump because they saw these systems, these institutions, being gamed. The asylum issue, the birthright citizenship issue, the Title IX issue. Every single part of society was being gamed by the left, and finally, Americans got pushed too far.”

In another executive order signed Monday, President Trump terminated asylum programs expanded under Biden to cover refugees from Haiti, Nicaragua, and other South American nations plagued by violence. Critics contended those programs were not meant to service migrants fleeing permanently dysfunctional nation-states but rather should be reserved for victims of war, disease, or other acts of God.
Gutfeld maintained that Americans gave President Trump a mandate, even if a majority disagreed with his decision to revoke birthright citizenship. He compared voters’ selection process to choosing a restaurant, even if they “don’t like everything” on the menu.
“There are things that Trump will do that I will disagree with, but the entire package is as close as you’re gonna get to what Americans want,” he stated.
The 5 p.m. weekday program has had one of the testiest sets at Fox News. Tarlov, an attorney, regularly clashes with Gutfeld and other conservative co-hosts like Jesse Watters and usually finds herself on an island against a panel that leans to the right. Nevertheless, their banter has proven beneficial for the ratings.
Nielsen data from December found that Fox News is pulling away from its competitors in the cable news department, as an astonishing 72 percent of primetime cable news viewers have flocked to the network in a recent ratings period. Fox News also secured its lead among the coveted 25-to-54-year-old demographic for the ninth year in a row.
