WATCH: Hannity Makes Audience Bust Out Laughing After Trolling Lori Lightfoot’s Mayoral Loss
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot was unsuccessful in her bid for re-election in the 2023 elections, as she received only 17.06% of the vote, trailing behind Paul Vallas and Brandon Johnson who earned 33.77% and 20.29%, respectively.
As a result, a new mayor will be elected following the run-off in April.
Sean Hannity made light of the situation, saying “let’s go Brandon,” referring to Brandon Johnson, as well as the phrase “Let’s go, Brandon” that gained popularity in late 2021 as a political statement.
The phrase originated from a NASCAR interview in which the crowd could be heard chanting “F*** Joe Biden” in the background. The interviewer, however, claimed that the crowd was instead saying “Let’s go, Brandon,” which quickly became a viral meme and a way for some to express their dissatisfaction with the current administration.
