On Wednesday afternoon, House Democrats were called to order after they lost their minds when GOP Florida Rep. Kat Cammack said they want to divide the GOP while “drinking alcohol, eating popcorn and wearing blankets” in the Capitol.
“They want us divided. They want us to fight each other. That much has been made clear by the popcorn, and blankets and alcohol that has coming over there,” she said in her speech advocating for Kevin McCarthy. Democrats immediately starting booing and jeering, which forced the House to be called to order.

Republicans are now on their sixth ballot in voting for a speaker of the house with no end in sight.
Cammack’s speech wasn’t the only contentious moment on the floor today.
Rep. Lauren Boebert called Trump out and implored him to tell Kevin McCarthy that he “does not have the votes” and that he needs to withdraw his name from the House Speaker race. This also drew an audible gasp from the House.
“So let’s work together,” Boebert said. “Lets stop with the campaign smears and tactics to get people to turn against us. We’ve been having my favorite president call us and tell us we need to knock this off,” implying that President Trump has been trying to persuade them against this revolt.
“I actually thinks it needs to be reversed,” Boebert fired back. “Our president needs to tell Kevin McCarthy that ‘sir you do not have the votes and you need to withdraw'”, Boebert said, drawing loud groans from her fellow members of the House.
