A group of over 30 migrants, primarily from Venezuela, hilariously arrived at Vice President Kamala Harris’ residence in northwest Washington, D.C. today. This is one of the first buses to arrive from the Texas border in months, just hours before the expected lifting of Title 42 according to NBC.
The migrants, including men, women, and children, were met by volunteers from SAMU First Response and Mutual Aid. They were then transferred to another charter bus, which will take them to a designated location for their immediate needs assessment and planning their next steps.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott, a Republican, previously pledged to continue transporting migrants to Democratic cities, holding the Biden administration responsible for what he considers an overwhelming influx of migrants. Arizona has also been coordinating with local D.C. officials to bus migrants to Washington.
