WATCH: JD Vance Makes ‘The View’ Hosts Lose It

Hosts on ABC’s ultra-liberal morning program “The View” lost their minds following last week’s vice presidential debate as they grasped at straws to defend Tim Walz and to declare Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) needs a “civics class.”

The group of heavily opinionated women was set off while they reviewed tape from the CBS debate. On multiple occasions, Vance challenged Walz to explain why Vice President Kamala Harris “hasn’t done” many of the things she has promised to do as president. The Trump running mate rightly pointed out that Harris, President Joe Biden, and Senate Democrats have the power to pass executive orders and tee up progressive legislation if they so choose. Co-host Sarah Haines kicked off the discussion by admitting Vance “took the night” on style and substance but defended Walz as reasonably impressive for combatting the well-oiled debate skills of the first-term senator. “If you were watching for substance and policy, Tim Walz cleared, clearly crossed that bar for me, because there were a couple things that were bothering me last night. JD Vance kept repeating, why hasn’t Kamala Harris done that yet?” she said.

Continuing, Haines added, “Okay, so, for the very job you’re running for, you are the Vice President, you are the second in charge.” Colleague Sunny Hostin interjected, speculating that Vance needs a “civics class” to understand the role and responsibilities of the vice president. “He did say like three times. Why hasn’t she done it yet and I’m like if we have to stop this for a second to explain what a vice president does. We are really in trouble here,” Haines responded.

In another clip, Hostin went on to assert that Walz had a stronger understanding of the “facts” in the debate. “Well, that was the craziest part, because no answer is an answer, right? And I think Walz was the clear winner. I’m surprised that some polls are saying something different. He was in command of the facts. He was in command of policies. He was civil, he was kind, he was willing to admit he made a mistake. On the other hand, JD Vance refused to admit that Trump lost the 2020 election. He is an election denier that, in my view, makes him not only unfit, but disqualifies him from the very office with which he is for, which he is running for, and the Kamala Harris and Tim Walz campaign has taken note of it,” she said.

On X, several viewers were quick to note that Harris played a deciding role in what Democrats brought to Congress. “Harris is 2nd in charge. Was the deciding vote on several disastrous bills that skyrocketed inflation and the last one in the room with Biden on the Afghanistan withdrawal. She was a part of everything going wrong in our country!” one user wrote. Conservative commentator Nicholas Fondacaro added, “The View cast lost it over Vance repeatedly asking Walz why hasn’t Kamala Harris acted on any of her proposals since she’s already in the current administration and has Biden’s ear. They screech that Vance doesn’t know how government works and needs a civics class.”
