Elon Musk has been fighting the mainstream media like crazy ever since he took control of Twitter as CEO, however, the latest funny news in the Twitter-verse isn’t necessarily something that Musk did but something that Jim Acosta did to himself….
For those who don’t know, Jim Acosta is an infamous reporter for CNN who reported specifically from the White Houser during Donald Trump’s presidency and attempted to lay traps for him left and right.
His role and continued bias style of reporting got him high up on Donald Trump’s list of journalists that Trump personally despises. However, Jim Acosta has apparently began to whine about being locked out of his Twitter account which, at this point, is a Biden-level gaffe.
Acosta was accused of breaking Twitter’s most recent rule regarding the promotion of other social media accounts on the platform.
“One of my tweets was found to have violated Twitter’s new rule about promoting other sites,” Acosta said in an interview with Linette Lopez. Acosta continued his explanation of being locked out saying that he is “still trying to sort it out.”
This latest rule appears to be a step in the right direction for Twitter preventing people from leaving to other social media platforms like Mastodon which is catered to the left wing movement.
“We recognize that many of our users are active on other social media platforms. However, we will no longer allow free promotion of certain social media platforms on Twitter,” Twitter support tweeted out on Sunday.
“Specifically, we will remove accounts created solely for the purpose of promoting other social platforms and content that contains links or usernames for the following platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Mastodon, Truth Social, Tribel, Nostr and Post,” the Twitter Support account went on to say further highlighting they’re latest policy.
Elon’s Twitter has been making no exceptions for those getting banned from the app. The support team laid it out clearly for everyone and Acosta and several other journalists broke the rules.
