WATCH: John Kerry’s Speech Hilariously Derailed By His Own Flatulence

During the COP28 Climate Conference, John Kerry, President Joe Biden’s Special Envoy for Climate, made international headlines and triggered the #FartGate trend on X with an episode of on-stage flatulence in Dubai..

The incident followed Kerry’s highly controversial demand that “there shouldn’t be any more coal-fired power plants permitted anywhere in the world.”

He added, “I find myself getting more and more militant because I do not understand how adults who are in a position of responsibility can be avoiding responsibility for taking away those things that are killing people on a daily basis…” before audibly breaking wind.

Becky Anderson, managing editor of CNN Abu Dhabi, can be seen in the video subtly bringing her hand to her lips immediately after the outburst as Kerry pauses momentarily. Fatih Birol, executive director of the International Energy Agency, in a ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ moment can be seen appearing to glare at Kerry for a split second before nodding and looking back to the audience.

“And the reality is that the climate crisis and the health crisis are one and the same,” Kerry continued, after a moment.

Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL), rather maturely, criticized Kerry on his rhetoric rather than his expulsion of unfortunately timed flatus.

Donalds wrote to X, “There are 220 US coal plants. They employ THOUSANDS, drive econs & supply 1/5 of US power. John Kerry called to eliminate ALL coal plants & says he’s becoming militant. This would destroy our competitiveness & standard of living. I support @RepChipRoy’s bill to defund Kerry.”

The climate on social media was glaringly hostile to Kerry for much of the afternoon Monday, with various outlets alternately criticizing his costly, and nightmarish climate agenda that would leave thousands of Americans freezing and impoverished and others noting his hypocritical flight to the UAE via private jet. Still more noted Kerry’s release of his own “carbon emissions,” and “greenhouse gasses.”

As reported by The New York Post, Larry O’Connor of Townhall Media called Kerry’s flatulence on the world stage an embarrassment to the U.S.

“The biggest problem is, during this entire exchange, representing us, the United States of America, he ripped a fart out. He let loose with flatulence on an international stage.”

O’Connor suggested that Kerry should lose his role due to the embarrassing debacle. “He should lose his job immediately,” he said. “John Kerry farted.” Kerry may still have larger problems though with Trending Politics reporting in April that The House Committee on Oversight and Accountability under Chairman James Comer (R-KY) demanding transparency into Kerry’s negotiations with foreign powers that are unchecked by the U.S. Senate.
