WATCH: Jon Stewart Fumes Over ABC’s Decision To Fire Anti-Trump Reporter: ‘F****ng Joke!’

“Daily Show” host Jon Stewart lashed out over ABC’s decision to fire longtime correspondent Terry Moran after a biased, anti-Trump outburst during a recent installment of his “Weekly Show” podcast.

Moran was fired earlier this week after referring to senior Trump advisor Stephen Miller as being “richly endowed with the capacity for hatred” in a since-deleted X post. The post was made in reference to President Trump’s decision to deploy National Guard personnel in order to combat multiple days of anarchy that had gripped Los Angeles.

“He’s a world-class hater. You can see this just by looking at him because you can see that his hatreds are his spiritual nourishment. He eats his hate,” the now former ABC correspondent ranted. “Trump is a world-class hater. But his hatred only a means to an end, and that end his his own glorification. That’s his spiritual nourishment.”

Stewart was not happy with ABC’s decision to fire Moran, stating that the network is a “f***ing joke” for the move. “The entire thing is because ABC clings to this facade that they somehow exist in a bubble,” Stewart said Thursday on his podcast.

“It’s a joke. They’re a f***ing joke,” the left-wing comedian fumed.

Moran, 65, was formally let go earlier this week after he was initially suspended by the network last Sunday. “We are at the end of our agreement with Terry Moran and based on his recent post – which was a clear violation of ABC News policies – we have made the decision to not renew,” the outlet announced Tuesday. “At ABC News, we hold all of our reporters to the highest standards of objectivity, fairness and professionalism, and we remain committed to delivering straightforward, trusted journalism.”

When asked by a listener whether he agreed with ABC’s decision to fire Moran, Stewart responded: “Of course not. So stupid. No, for God’s sakes.”

“They shouldn’t have paid the $15 million, they shouldn’t have fired him,” Stewart added in reference to the network’s $15 million settlement with President Trump after falsely labeling him as a “convicted rapist.”

Moran was employed as a senior national correspondent for the network at the time of his firing. He previously served as ABC’s Chief Foreign Correspondent from 2013 to 2018. Prior to that, Moran co-anchored the network’s newsmagazine Nightline for eight years, and had a stint as ABC’s chief White House correspondent from 1999 to 2005.
