WATCH: Gallery Laughs At House Democrat’s Hunter Biden Conspiracies, ‘Random’ Line Of Questioning

During a hearing for the House Judiciary Committee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government on Thursday, U.S. Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) claimed, without providing evidence, that Hunter Biden’s laptop could have been “altered” by Russia or Rudy Giuliani. Independent reporter Michael Shellenberger laughed at Goldman’s “conspiracy theory” and ended up humiliating the far-left Democrat over his “random” line of questioning.

The contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop has long been at the forefront of allegations of corruption involving the Biden family and foreign companies. The laptop contained thousands of emails between Hunter Biden and his associates regarding deals with foreign nationals and the involvement of “the big guy,” long thought to be Joe Biden.

The New York Post’s bombshell report on the laptop’s contents has been followed by the release of hundreds of emails, bank records and other communications between members of the Biden family and foreign nationals, resulting in the ongoing impeachment inquiry into President Biden.

Rep. Goldman has admitted that President Biden had communications with his son’s business partners, though he has nonetheless defended the president’s conduct and continued to do so in Thursday’s hearing.

“You are aware, of course, that the laptop, so to speak, was actually that was published in the New York Post was actually a hard drive that the New York Post admitted here was not authenticated as real. It was not the laptop the FBI had. You’re aware of that, right?” Goldman asked Schellenberger during Thursday’s hearing.

The veteran reporter replied by stating that the contents were the same and had been verified, which Goldman disputed. “You would have to authenticate it to know it was the same contents. You have no idea. You know hard drives can be manipulated,” the New York Democrat said.

“Are you suggesting the New York Post participating in a conspiracy to construct the contents of the Hunter Biden laptop?” Schellenberger shot back.

“No, sir. The problem is that hard drives can be manipulated by Rudy Giuliani or Russia,” the congressman then claimed.

When asked for evidence, Goldman claimed that “there is evidence” but failed to provide any concrete examples. “So you’re engaged in a conspiracy theory,” a smirking Schellenberger followed up.

At that point, Goldman pivoted to a completely new topic and asked about the upcoming deposition of Hunter Biden. House Republicans want the First Son to sit for a deposition behind closed doors before allowing him the opportunity to deliver public testimony, keeping with the precedent set in the impeachment trials of former President Donald Trump.

“I’m glad you agree with me, Mr. Schellenberger, that transparency is the most important thing. And my last question for you is, do you think it would be transparent if Hunter Biden came to this Congress and testified in a public hearing and more transparent than if he testified privately?” Goldman asked a visibly confused Schellenberger.

“It’s, I mean, literally, I’ve never thought about that. I have no idea,” the journalist replied, drawing a chorus of laughs from the gallery.

Goldman — who recently stated that MAGA Republicans need to be “eradicated” — continued to rattle off pro-Biden talking points as his time expired.
