WATCH: Kash Patel Confirms More Indictments Against ‘Corrupt’ Officials Are Coming

Allies of the Trump administration have been watching and waiting for the next shoe to drop in the government’s investigation into those who for years tried to put President Donald Trump behind bars. They won’t be waiting much longer, FBI Director Kash Patel promised this week.

Patel, who is spearheading a probe into the baseless allegations that Trump colluded with Russia, said on Wednesday that federal investigators are working towards potential indictments of other powerful figures involved in the 2016 election.

“We are looking at so many criminal leads by those who are in positions of power,” he told Just the News host John Solomon.

“We’re not going to stop until every single one of those is fully exposed, the documents are provided either to the Congress or the courts of law, and make every referral we can under the Department of Justice.”

Earlier this month, the Trump administration indicted former FBI Director James Comey, charging him with two counts of lying to Congress and obstructing a congressional investigation. Comey, who helped lead the 2016 investigation into Trump and later became a fierce critic, has pleaded not guilty.

Comey’s arrest is an amuse-bouche of what’s to come, Patel promised.

“These indictments that you’ve seen and the ones that you’re going to see coming up in the near future are just the beginning,” he teased.

Much work has gone on behind the scenes to uncover what was kept under wraps for more than 20 years, Patel explained.

“But I have to remind everyone: everybody’s like ‘it’s seven months. What have you guys been doing?’ Well, they spent 20 years building this disease temple of corruption.”

“It takes a little bit of time to defeat it and beat it down. I’m not asking you to trust me – I’m asking you to look at the work the men and women of the FBI have done so far in these seven-eight months, and just imagine what we’re gonna do come the year end.”

Working with Deputy Director Dan Bongino, Patel has shocked Congress and members of the public with the discovery of “burn bags” found in the bowels of the FBI headquarters and which contained missing annotations from the investigation by special counsel John Durham. Notes scheduled for destruction include testimony that Hillary Clinton aides were aware of efforts to falsely tie Trump to Russia and even encouraged them.
