WATCH: LA Mayor Squirms After CNN Shows Poll Crushing Her Illegal Alien Narrative

In what many are calling a rare win for left-leaning news network CNN, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass got put in her place concerning support for President Donald Trump’s immigration agenda.

Things were going as you would expect during a CNN interview with a left-wing politician until Bass was asked, “Are Democrats out of touch on this issue?”

“I think if you did the polling in Los Angeles, I’m not sure it would be that way. We are a city of immigrants!” She responded. The network then showed actual polling data on the issue, and it completely obliterated her narrative.

In the United States, 54 percent of the population is on board with Trump’s program to deport illegal immigrants. According to the CBS poll, 46 percent disapprove of the administration’s tactics on the issue.

Over the course of the weekend, Bass faced severe criticism on social media, including from a number of big-shot officials within the Trump administration. The push back is due to the L.A. mayor resisting Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids targeting illegal migrants for deportation in the city.

“This morning, we received reports of federal immigration enforcement actions in multiple locations in Los Angeles,” Bass went on to say in a statement delivered on Friday. “As Mayor of a proud city of immigrants, who contribute to our city in so many ways, I am deeply angered by what has taken place. These tactics sow terror in our communities and disrupt basic principles of safety in our city. My Office is in close coordination with immigrant rights community organizations. We will not stand for this.”

Mayor Bass’s statement, which earned 2 million impressions on X, received major pushback from conservatives on the platform. Many noted the criticism of her leadership, preparedness, and response to the wildfires that tore through her city earlier in the year. A total of 30 people died in the fires, while hundreds lost their homes.

“You have no say in this at all,” White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller said on X. “Federal law is supreme and federal law will be enforced.”

“It’s amazing the number of elected officials who don’t grasp the basics of federalism, or federal sovereignty over immigration issues, or the First Amendment,” Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon said in response to Bass.

“They’re Illegals,” Deputy Assistant to the President Sebastian Gorka replied. “Not ‘immigrants.’ One just tried to burn Americans alive in Boulder. If you’re aiding and abetting them you’re a criminal too. Are you ready to be treated as a criminal? Because we are ready to treat you as one if you commit a crime.”

“Can’t get permits for people to rebuild their homes after a wildfire, but focused like a laser beam on stopping immigration enforcement,” Red State writer Bonchie said.

One of the most vicious responses to Bass came from Rep. Darrell Issa, who said, “If only Karen Bass fought against the Los Angeles fires like she fights for illegal aliens.”
