WATCH: Liberal Host Explodes Over Kamala’s Refusal To Go Away
Ana Kasparian, the longtime co-host of the progressive web show “The Young Turks,” said she will consider moving out of California if Vice President Kamala Harris opts to run for governor.
According to a recent report from CNN that cited numerous Harris aides and high-profile sources in California Democratic Party politics, the vice president is currently deciding whether to run for the soon-to-be open gubernatorial nomination in 2026, or launch another bid for president in 2028.
Proponents of the presidential bid have pointed to Harris’ massive fundraising haul and spike in net favorability after President Biden suspended his re-election campaign.

A return to California politics — where Harris was twice elected as attorney general — figures to be an appealing prospect for Harris, however. Multiple gubernatorial candidates told the outlet they would step aside if Harris decides to run, clearing a straightforward path to the governor’s mansion in the blue stronghold. One source described Harris’ path to governor as a “slam dunk” if she decides to go that route.
Kasparian — who emerged as a fierce critic of the Democratic Party establishment during the 2024 campaign cycle — was incensed over the prospect of Harris leading California after current Governor Gavin Newsom terms out.
“I think Kamala Harris would probably win in a cakewalk for governor,” said co-host Cenk Uygur, to which Kasparian immediately shouted “no!”
“What are you doing? What are you doing?” an animated Kasparian pleaded. “No, I’m telling you the reality, whether you like it or not… Democratic voters in California love to obey.”
“I’m gonna move, Cenk! I’m gonna quit my job,” Kasparian said. “I’m gonna quit my job, and I’m gonna move.”
“I’m not saying I’m in favor of it,” Uygur replied. “I’m telling you what’s, like, if they, the Democratic Party, said, ‘We anoint Kamala Harris,’ a giant percentage of Democrats in California would go, ‘Yes! We obey. We will take the loyalty oath. It doesn’t matter how bad she is.”
Despite being a longtime supporter of Democrats and critic of President-elect Donald Trump, Kasparian announced that she was formally leaving the Democratic Party earlier this year. In an interview with Jillian Michaels, Kasparian revealed that she was sexually assaulted by the homeless men while attending to her dog. “And I didn’t know what to do. I was terrified, I didn’t have a weapon on me, I had no way of defending myself, I didn’t know how far it was gonna go, because it’s two guys, I’m by myself with my little dog,” she said. The progressive commentator further explained that she felt helpless in the moment, knowing that there was nothing she could do against two grown men in that situation.
“And that woke me up,” she went on to say.
