WATCH: Liberal Radio Host Questions Months Of Rhetoric Framing Trump As A Dictator

Charlamagne tha God, host of the top-rated, Hip-Hop-centric radio show “The Breakfast Club,” questioned the Democrat Party’s extreme rhetoric against President-elect Trump in the aftermath of his historic victory.

“I will say this, I’m glad everybody’s having a sense of optimism because the reality is we have no choice, because we’re here now. Donald J. Trump is gonna be the 47th President of the United States of America, like it or not,” the longtime Trump critic said. “And we all hope for the best for this country, that’s all we can do.”

He then noted that Democrats had spent months labeling Trump as a “fascist” and a “threat to democracy” only, for the most part, to tone down the rhetoric overnight.

“But don’t ya’ll find it strange that now that he’s won, they’re not calling him a threat to Democracy? They’re not calling him a fascist. I mean damn, on Monday –,” Charlamagne added, at which point his co-host claimed they “can’t” because Trump is now “the most powerful person in the world.”

“On Monday they was just calling him that. I would think that, you know, if you really believed that then somebody’s speech would be about how America f’d up, and how things are about to be really bad… it just makes you wonder how much of it did they really believe or how much of it was just politics.”

A number of Democrats have indeed toned down the rhetoric following Trump’s historic comeback victory, including Vice President Harris, who agreed that the president-elect was a “fascist” just a month earlier. Her concession speech was devoid of any such rhetoric however, as the vice president instead called for a peaceful transfer of power.

President Biden said much of the same after labeling “extreme MAGA Republicans” as “threats to Democracy” for four years. While addressing reporter in the Rose Garden on Thursday, a seemingly enthusiastic President Biden stated that his team will be working to ensure a peaceful transfer of power to a man they said will turn America to a dictatorship. Biden has also invited his longtime rival to the White House and scheduled an additional lunch meeting.

Not all Democrats have taken the same approach, however, as California Governor Gavin Newsom and Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker have vowed to “resist”  the incoming Trump Administration.

New York Attorney General took things further and appeared to threaten the president-elect with a continuance of politically motivated legal moves in an unhinged press conference earlier this week.

“So here we are. We’ve studied their platforms. We’ve identified certain possibilities, fact patterns. We’ve created contingency plans. So no matter what the next administration throws at us, we’re ready,” a visibly shaken James told reporters.

“We’re ready to respond to any attempts to cut or eliminate any funding to the great state of New York as the governor outlined. So despite what has happened on the national stage, we will continue to stand tall in the face of injustice, revenge, or retribution, protect and our most vulnerable and marginalized amongst us. Because it is my sworn duty and responsibility to lead that fight, working with the governor of this great state, Kathy Hochul.”
