WATCH: Megyn Kelly Gives Update On Fox News Ratings Crash; It’s Getting WAY Worse
Fox News, the once-dominant cable news network, has lost a large chunk of its audience, according to former star anchor Megyn Kelly. During her podcast, Kelly noted that the network is “left with about a third of their audience.”
“I mean, that’s stunning,” she stated.
Prime time programming, which is the network’s main source of revenue, has been hit hard by the ratings decline. Hannity, the 9 p.m. show that follows Tucker Carlson, is down “almost 40%, down 39%, in the 10 p.m… down 24% in the demo, down almost 20% in the total, and I could go on,” she explained.
Even the 11 o’clock hour, which features Greg Gutfeld, has taken a hit.

According to Kelly, prime time programming is “all anyone gives a sh*t about over there at Fox News. The prime time pays the bills, period. They’re all down.”
Kelly’s assessment of the network’s ratings reveals a major blow to Fox News, which has long prided itself on its dominance in the cable news industry.
The network’s losses to MSNBC have also raised concerns about its future. Kelly notes that “they have lost repeatedly to MSNBC,” and the trend is worrying for the network.
In the days following Carlson’s departure, the channel’s dominance felt threatened after “Fox News Tonight” experienced an immediate drop of nearly one million views. No Fox program managed to achieve the 3 million viewer mark that Carlson consistently maintained. Even Rachel Maddow’s 9 pm show outperformed Carlson’s previous 8 pm time slot at Fox.
As Fox News struggles to find a way to reverse its fortunes, it remains to be seen what the future holds for the network. But one thing is clear: they’ll need to make some major changes if they hope to hold their position as the top-rated cable news network in the country.
