WATCH: MSNBC Host Refers To Attacks On Tesla Dealers As ‘Protests’

MSNBC host Alicia Menendez  — the daughter of disgraced former New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez — claimed during Tuesday’s broadcast of “MSNBC Prime” that acts of violence against Tesla dealers and owners are acts of “protest.”

Menendez and her guest panelists were discussing President Trump’s meeting with Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, on the White House south lawn on Tuesday. The meeting was called after a number of Tesla dealerships across the nation have been vandalized and destroyed, at times through gunfire and explosives, while Tesla owners have been attacked and targeted in acts of political violence in response to Musk’s role in the Trump Administration.

Trump responded by buying a red Tesla vehicle as a show of support and told reporters that acts of political violence will not be tolerated. When asked whether the administration intends to treat the increasing violence as acts of domestic terrorism, Trump responded in the affirmative. “I will do that, I’ll do it. I’m going to stop them,” the president said.

“Those people are going to go through a big problem when we catch them. We’ve got a lot of cameras up, we already know who some of them are. We’re going to catch them. And they’re bad guys. They’re the same guys that screw around with our schools and universities, the same garbage,” the president added. “And, no, we’re going to catch them. And let me tell you, you do it to Tesla, and you do it to any company, we’re going to catch you and you’re going to go through hell.”

During Tuesday’s broadcast of “MSNBC Prime” — which has been touted by network executives as a vehicle to reserve declining ratings — Menendez falsely claimed that the Trump Administration is labeling acts of protest against Tesla as “terrorism.”

“So just to be clear, you protest a private company, you are labeled by this administration, a domestic terrorist,” Menendez said in a blatant misrepresentation of the president’s comments.

Acts of political violence targeting Tesla dealers and owners have indeed been on the rise as Musk has taken a prominent role in the Trump Administration through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative.

The latest incident took place in Seattle on Sunday night, when four Tesla vehicles were set on fire and vandalized. Officials stated that other vehicles were moved away in order to avoid the fire, some of which were vandalized with Swastikas and anti-Musk slogans.

Additional incidents across the United States have been directly attributed to anti-Trump/Musk extremists. On Friday, a Tesla charging station in South Carolina was torched with a homemade Molotov cocktail. The attacker, who has yet to be identified, spelled out the words “LONG LIVE UKRAINE” in red paint just in front of the charging station, according to the North Charleston Police Department.

The North Carolina incident is currently being investigated by federal authorities with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), while additional incidents targeting Tesla dealers and owners have been recorded in Massachusetts, New York, and Oregon.
