WATCH: MSNBC Host Trashes Christians, Refers To Prayer As A ‘Lie’

Former Republican National Committee Chair Michael Steele — who now works as a partisan left-wing host for MSNBC — trashed Christians and conservatives for offering prayers in the aftermath of Wednesday’s shooting targeting the Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

While speaking on a panel that included U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and longtime Democratic Party operative Symone Sanders, Steele said that he agrees with Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey’s stance on the “trans community.” After a transgender-identifying gunman killed two children and wounded several others, the far-left mayor has repeatedly stated that the city must stand by its “trans community” and protect them from “abuse” and “harassment.”

“As an elected official, you are on the ground with your folks and you appreciate this journey. I agree with the mayor,” Steele said.

“The thoughts and prayers, I’m so beyond, so beyond that nonsense, the lie of that,” he added with a look of pure disgust on his face. “Because what we have are people who continue to stand in the way of actually doing something to stop the violence against their own kids. It is amazing to me. We watch young kids die in classrooms and now in church, and all we get are thoughts and prayers.”

Steele appeared to be insinuating that conservatives and Christians are responsible for violence against them. It is unclear what policies he believes would have prevented Wednesday’s shooting, as the gunman had no criminal record and was not known to law enforcement.

Minnesota also has its own version of  a red flag law, which allow law enforcement to seize weapons from individuals deemed to present a threat to public safety.

Steele’s comments were echoed by former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, who is now headlining MSNBC’s primetime lineup.

“Prayer is not freaking enough. Prayers does not end school shootings. prayers do not make parents feel safe sending their kids to school,” Psaki ranted in an X post. “Prayer does not bring these kids back. Enough with the thoughts and prayers.”

CNN also joined in on the Christian-bashing in the immediate aftermath of the shooting. “Forget about thoughts and prayers. These kids were literally praying when they were murdered through a church window,” network host Dana Bash said.

Like Bash, Mayor Frey wasted no time in dismissing thoughts and prayers while speaking outside the building immediately after the attack. “Don’t just say this is about thoughts and prayers right now. These kids were literally praying,” the mayor ranted. “It was the first week of school, they were in a church.”

Robin Westman, a 23-year-old transgender-identifying individual, killed two students aged 8 and 10 and wounded 14 additional students and three adults when he indiscriminately opened fire during a school-wide mass. The shooter took his own life behind the building after carrying out the attack.

Born Robert Westman, the gunman is a biological male who started identifying as a transgender female when he was 17. Records obtained by the Minneapolis Star Tribune indicate that Westman’s mother signed off on a document allowing him to change his name in order to match his “gender identity.”
