WATCH: NBC Host Makes Glaring Admission About ‘No Kings’ Protests: ‘Older Crowd’
NBC 10 reporter Sue O’Connell accidentally gave a perfect description of the latest round of “No Kings” protests on Saturday, the top-down, highly organized demonstrations aimed at giving the appearance of genuine popular opinion.
Like hundreds of cities across the country, thousands of protesters gathered on the Boston Common for Saturday’s protests. “So we’ve seen this happen in Portland and we’ve seen this happening in Chicago,” O’Connell, who sounded fully supportive of the protests, said while going over the day’s events in studio.
“And people are generally pushing back against what they see the Trump Administration and some Republicans as violent, as dangerous, as hating America,” she added. The reporter then shared that some individuals have began dressing up as “furries in some way. And wearing costumes, and wearing turtle costumes, and wearing elephant costumes,” so that “god forbid, if there was any interaction with law enforcement or with ICE, you have people dressed up, grown-ups, in these kind of silly Halloween costumes.”
While coming across as being firmly biased in favor of the protesters, O’Connell went on to accidentally make a glaring admission about the crowd.
“So from what we can see from our viewpoint here in the studio and talking to our crew on the ground and some people I know who are there, this is an older crowd. There’s not a lot of folks, and granted, it’s a big crowd here, I’m not good at estimating, but it’s definitely over 2,000, maybe close to 3,000,” she said. “We can’t see everyone, but it’s an older crowd, a lot of white hair you see out there, Q-tips, as we used to call them in the business. They are out protesting, and not a lot of young people.”
O’Connell went on to concede that the protest was a way for left-wing “boomers” and “middle-aged folks” to come out and protest at “the nation’s oldest public park, Boston Common, in the home of democracy and the revolution in Boston.”
The average age of the “No Kings” protests, which are highly coordinated and well funded by organizations tied to billionaire left-wing financier George Soros’ Open Society Foundations and related groups, has become a frequent observation. Older crowds appear to indicate that Democrats continue to struggle with voters under 30 after previously holding a sizable advantage with the demographic.
Among voters aged 18-29 in the 2020 presidential election, Joe Biden won 60 percent of the vote compared to 36 percent for Donald Trump, giving him a 24-point margin in the pivotal age group. By 2024, support had started to shift rapidly, as Vice President Kamala Harris received just 52 percent of the vote.
The growing shift among youth voters is also a well-documented polling trend.
