WATCH: Popular ESPN Host Goes Scorched Earth On Jasmine Crockett

“Squad” Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) was the subject of scorn by a popular ESPN host who dragged the Democrat for bringing her ebonics-infused colloquialisms to Congress.

The “bright” and “educated” Crockett, who records show attended a prestigious midwestern prep school before slumming it in Houston, Texas, is behaving like an insolent teenager, Stephen A. Smith exclaimed on the Monday episode of his show.

“This educated, brilliant black woman representing over 750,000 people is engaging in verbiage and rhetoric for the streets! And that’s fine when you in the streets!” he shouted.

“How many of y’all bring the streets to the table when you at the negotiating table trying to get a deal done?” he asked.

Crockett, 44, did not always talk with her current code-switching inflection. As a child, she was raised in the Republican suburbs outside St. Louis, Missouri and attended St. Mary Country Day School; at $35,000 per year, it is one of the most prestigious preparatory academies in the U.S.

“How many of you are able to think that for a second that you able to bring street verbiage to Capitol Hill and that’s gon’ work for you!?” Smith continued incredulously.

“You literally have senators and congressional figures on Capitol Hill, on the side of the Republicans, telling the networks… ‘Please, please, please put her front and center on camera!'” he joked.

“Why would they do that!? Because they know it wins for them,” he pointed out.

Smith’s “Straight Shooter” commentary came while responding to backlash he received for criticizing Crockett as a flawed figure to speak on behalf of the Democratic Party. He clarified on Monday that he doesn’t doubt her intellect but takes issue with her ghetto-style approach to politics.

“And what I was saying was I appreciate her passion, her intellect, the fact that her heart and her willingness to be courageous and all of those things are in the right place. But my God, isn’t it about winning too? Ain’t it about getting it done?” he added, the Daily Caller reported.

Crockett’s rhetoric has gotten in her hot water multiple times over the past year. She has referred to Trump as “wannabe Hitler” and “an enemy to the United States.”

She partially backtracked after bipartisan denunciations for her referring to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who uses a wheelchair, as “Governor Hot Wheels.” Current and former members of her staff have since come forward alleging she is a “monster” behind closed doors who insists on black car chauffeur service and lashes out at their smallest mistakes.
