WATCH: Purple-Haired Congresswoman Goes Berserk In Bizarre Rant

Published

on

With hair color that screams punk rock and a raspy voice to boot, Representative Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) turned a routine Congressional session into quite the performance. On Thursday, Rep. DeLauro (D-CT), sporting vibrant purple hair, delivered a passionate speech on the floor of the House of Representatives, clamoring for immediate action on funding Ukraine.

The rant takes place as Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) steadfastly advances a series of foreign aid bills, including significant humanitarian assistance for global conflict zones.

“For months and months, we have been diddling around while people are dying in Ukraine,” DeLauro said. The congresswoman’s intense outburst highlighted a fractious issue that has seen the House grapple with legislative paralysis. “It was Donald Trump who said, ‘Don’t give Biden a win.’ You think about that,” DeLauro exclaimed.

“Don’t talk about what weapons we want to give them; we’re not giving them what they need now,” she argued. “We should have picked up that Senate bill, brought it to the floor, and voted on it immediately. We would be out of here today doing it!”

Speaker Johnson, undeterred by pressure from hardline members within his party, is pushing forward with a three-part supplemental package closely mirroring the Senate’s proposal. This includes over $9 billion in aid destined for Gaza and other areas embroiled in conflict, a stipulation critical to garnering Democratic support.

The bills collectively total approximately $95 billion in aid, matching the Senate’s proposed amount, and include a provision that designates $10 billion in economic assistance for Ukraine as a repayable loan.
