In a lighthearted exchange caught on camera outside the Capitol, Representative Tim Burchett (R-TN) used humor to sidestep a question posed by a paid Democrat operative. The moment shared on X, showed Burchett’s unique approach to deflecting policy-related questions.

The video began with the person asking Representative Burchett if he would commit to opposing a nationwide abortion ban. Instead of addressing the question, Burchett responded with a quip about the questioner’s appearance.

“Representative, will you commit to opposing a nationwide abortion ban?”

“Will you commit to putting some sunscreen on those legs? Man, I gotta wear welding goggles after this,” Burchett joked.

Burchett is known for trolling protestors on the hill. In April he humorously engaged with pro-Palestine protestors near the Capitol who were causing a scene.
