WATCH: Scott Jennings Obliterates Anti-Trump Podcaster In Brutal Takedown On CNN
A liberal podcaster accidentally self-owned while going up against CNN’s Scott Jennings on Thursday, earning herself a spot in the hall of infamous guests who’ve fallen victim to his brash style of conservative contrarianism.
Jennifer Welch, host of the progressive “I’ve Had It” podcast, tangled with Jennings over her charge that President Donald Trump is suffering from dementia. True to form, Jennings kept his cool and said Welch’s strategy is emblematic of the struggles Democrats face as they seek to regain some political relevance.
The dispute finished on vulgar terms, with Welch suggesting Trump simulated a sexual act during a recent speech.
“This should be the lead story, this guy is suffering from massive mental decline,” she said, stating that Trump appears “out of his mind” while on stage.
She absurdly cited Trump’s “three press conferences in a row” this week as an example of his unsuitability to hold office.
“Let’s just discuss the time that he was on the campaign trail, he tried to perform oral sex on a microphone!”
Jennings shook his head and pointed to Welch as Exhibit A of Democrats’ delusive approach toward the 2026 elections.
“I hope this is what Democrats do next year,” he responded. “If this is the Democratic strategy, congratulations, America. You’ve already reelected Republican majorities as far as the eye can see.”

As CNN seeks to remake itself in the second Trump administration, Jennings has proved to be ratings gold for the flailing network. He’s caused other guests to lose it when calling out an app that seeks to alert illegal immigrants to ICE officers in the area, and praised Republicans for offering bigger signing bonuses to new ICE recruits.
His popularity has afforded Jennings a pathway to elected office, should he choose to seek it.
In April, Jennings let it be known that he is heavily considering a run for U.S. Senate in his home state of Kentucky, where longtime Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) plans to retire at the end of next year.
“If the president wants me, I’ll run,” he told a reporter during a Washington, D.C., afterparty following the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
For now, the former Senate aide appears content to leverage his popularity on the airwaves. He recently signed a deal with Salem Radio Network to replace Dennis Prager, the longtime conservative radio king and founder of PragerU. The one-hour show will air beginning at 2 p.m. EST.
Jennings, 47, served in the George W. Bush administration before launching RunSwitch Public Relations in 2013.
