WATCH: Scott Jennings Shuts Down Liberal Panelists’ ‘Fantasy Land’ Claim That Trump Isn’t Popular
On Monday night’s episode of NewsNight with Abby Phillip, CNN commentator Scott Jennings once again found himself battling against a panel of liberal voices determined to dismiss the rising popularity of President Donald Trump. Despite repeated interruptions, Jennings calmly and decisively dismantled their claims, pointing to hard data and voter sentiment that reveal a Republican Party fully supportive of Trump’s leadership.
As the discussion unfolded, Jennings found himself at odds with two liberal panelists attempting to push a narrative that Republican voters are dissatisfied with Trump’s presidency. Jennings swiftly responded, countering their argument by pointing out that Republicans are, in fact, pleased with Trump’s presidency and his decisive actions in reducing government bloat.
“You guys keep trying to create this fantasy land where Donald Trump is not popular, or where Republicans are mad,” Jennings said, shutting down their weak assertions. “Can you name a single Democrat in Congress more popular than Donald Trump right now? Answer: No.”
“The reality is Republicans are so happy with this, they’re not upset about it,” Jennings told them. “The American people are happy about what’s going on right now because for the first time in a long time, a president said, I’m actually going to reduce the size of the government.”

Two months into his second term, President Trump has wasted no time implementing the policies that won him reelection. His administration has swiftly delivered on campaign promises, focusing on cutting government waste, enforcing stricter immigration policies, and taking a hardline approach to foreign policy.
A recent DailyMail and J.L. Partners poll reflects this momentum, showing that Trump’s approval rating has risen to 54%, a new high in the wake of a deeply polarized political landscape. Notably, support among younger voters has surged, climbing from 51% to 56% among those aged 18 to 29.
These numbers fly in the face of liberal narratives attempting to paint Trump as unpopular. When respondents were asked about their evolving views on the president, 36% said they now hold a more positive opinion of him, compared to just 16% who have developed a more negative perception.
Since taking office on January 20, Trump has implemented a flurry of executive orders aimed at reshaping the federal government. Among his key initiatives:
- Dismantling DEI Programs – Trump swiftly moved to eliminate costly and controversial Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives within the federal government.
- Border Security Crackdown – Construction of the border wall has resumed, and deportation efforts have been streamlined, signaling a return to the strict immigration policies that defined his first term.
- Government Efficiency Overhaul – Trump has established a Department of Government Efficiency, headed by tech mogul Elon Musk, aimed at cutting waste and bureaucratic red tape.
- Foreign Policy Shake-Ups – The administration has taken an aggressive stance abroad, including a recent high-profile meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to negotiate U.S. access to Ukraine’s rare mineral resources.
Despite liberal media’s efforts to undermine Trump’s standing, even some Democrat voters are beginning to acknowledge his effectiveness. Polling shows that his approval rating among Democrats has increased from 20% to 22%, an indication that his policies are making an impact beyond his base.
