WATCH: ‘Squad’ Rep. Goes On Nonsensical Rant, Calls Trump ‘Enemy’ Of The State
Even by “Squad” standards, this rant was a doozy.
Texas Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) dropped a diatribe against President Donald Trump over the weekend, slamming the Republican for acting like an “enemy” of the United States while “occupying” the White House.
“As far as I am concerned, he is an enemy to the United States,” Crockett, 43, said during a Sunday interview on MSNBC.
“He swore an oath just like the rest of us, but right now, when you are literally putting us at risk because you want to convince your followers that you should be a dictator too, that you should never leave the White House? Because you don’t believe that elections should take place? I don’t really understand what is going on, and I don’t know what it’s going to take to get people to wake up.”
Rep. Crockett’s comments echo those of fellow Squad member Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), who referred to Trump as the “occupant in the White House” throughout his first term. Now that the president is back four years later, their criticisms carry an empty ring.
The desire for Americans to “wake up” also calls to mind comments made last month by Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) when she declared Americans are “stupid” and that the “dumbing down” of the country is taking place right before her eyes.
“These people are just idiots,” Omar said during an MSNBC interview. “I’m at the point where it’s become hard to have an intellectual debate with any of these people because the level of stupidity they are displaying every single day is frankly embarrassing, not just in Congress but as Americans.”
“The fact that these people are allowed to say the most ridiculous things tells you that the dumbing of the United States has arrived, because how else did we get the Trump presidency again?” she added.

On social media, viewers immediately began petitioning U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) to repeat Omar’s 2023 punishment and censure Crockett for her outburst.
Without much hope of passing a single bill over the next two years, progressive Democrats have resorted to name-calling and grandstanding in an attempt to rouse far-left activists back into the fight. The rants don’t appear to be helping MSNBC, which recently nixed longtime host Joy Reid and laid off most of her staff in a desperate bid to save the network amid sagging ratings.
The Squad has lost influence in Congress as well. Last year saw the defeat of former Reps. Cori Bush (D-MO) and Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) to more moderate primary challengers, a sign that even their own supporters are growing tired of the antics. The losses dropped the group’s numbers from nine to seven.
When she’s not losing it on the airwaves, Crockett can be seen sparring with conservative colleagues like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA). During a committee hearing last year, she called the Georgia Republican a “butch” after Greene criticized her hair extensions, leading to a shouting match that nearly drowned out the proceedings.
Fellow Democrats aren’t keen on rewarding Crockett for her behavior. In January, she lost a challenge to longtime Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI) for chair of the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee.
