WATCH: ‘Ted Lasso’ Star Loses It On Cameraman
Hannah Waddingham apparently got one too many comments from London’s paparazzi, losing her cool in a fit of rage at the Olivier Awards on Sunday.
Waddingham, who played the hard-charging soccer club owner Rebecca Welton on the hit series “Ted Lasso,” traded words with a photographer who asked her to “show some leg” beneath an undulating purple gown before storming up to him.
“Oh my God, you would never say that to a man. Don’t be a d***, otherwise I’ll move off! Don’t say ‘Show me leg.’ No,” she said according to a video of the incident.
Walking up to the gray-haired scribe, Waddingham frowns and points in his face before walking on to greet others walking the red carpet that night.

long story short: hannah was being her gorgeous self and the 📸 made some comment about her leg we couldn't quite make out and… well, the video speaks for itself. This woman is a role model. Always, always call pricks out on their bullshit. https://t.co/TUPwdqEYo2 pic.twitter.com/ybhxCo5FJ6

The impromptu performance was in keeping with the actress’ boss girl attitude in her character on “Ted Lasso” where Welton battles a boys’ club in the British league as well as a billionaire ex-husband who owns a competing club. Her outstanding support to Jason Sudeikis in the lead role earned Waddinham a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2021 and the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2021 and 2022. The show’s three-season run on Apple TV+ between 2020 and 2023 garnered 61 Primetime Emmy Awards nominations and won the top award for a comedy series in back-to-back years.
The internet cheered Waddingham on for telling off the sexist photographer.
Damn rude photographer. I’m glad she called him out! 💪💪And I’m glad her friend Michael Ball was there to give her a hug; I’m sure she needed it in that moment. 🙌🏼

The snapper wanted her to show some leg and she politely said he wouldn’t ask a man to do that. Good for her. Creepy old man.

The 49-year-old, an accomplished vocalist, began her time at the Olivier Awards backing up pianist Joe Stilgoe to open a night of recognition of London’s thespians. Some of Sunday night’s winners included Nicole Scherzinger, “Succession” star Sarah Snook, and “Game of Thrones” actor Mark Gatiss.
“Ted Lasso” has been rocket fuel for Waddingham’s career, earning her roles on “The Fall Guy” and “Mission Impossible—Dead Reckoning Part 2” according to the Daily Wire.
