WATCH: ‘The View’ Was Forced To Read Another Legal Correction Over Pete Hegseth Comments

In what is seemingly becoming a regular segment on ABC’s left-wing talk show The View, co-host Sunny Hostin was forced to read yet another on-air legal note regarding comments the panel made about Pete Hegseth, who is President-elect Trump’s nominee for defense secretary.

During Monday’s episode of The View, Hostin issued a statement after co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Ana Navarro, and ex-Trump Administration employee Alyssa Farah Griffin commented on a years-old private email sent by Hegseth’s mother. The email — which was passed on by numerous media outlets before a New York Times reporter decided to disclose it — detailed a personal dispute in which Hegseth’s mother accused him of mistreating his ex-wife. Hegseth’s mom has since apologized for the statement, stating that her comments were made in an emotional state and that she never wanted the email to be released.

“It is not true. It has never been true,” she said “I know my son. He is a good father, husband.” She also told the left-wing outlet that its decision to release the private email was “disgusting.”

The hosts also discussed a number of additional Trump cabinet picks, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Tulsi Gabbard and Kash Patel, particularly on the need for senators to “vet” candidates.

“I have a very quick statement,” Hostin stated during Monday’s broadcast. “It’s not gonna be that quick,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg then interjected.

“Pete Hegseth has denied any wrongdoing, his lawyers said he paid the woman in 2023 to head off the threat of a baseless lawsuit,” a stone-faced Hostin continued. “No charges were ever brought.”

The latest legal note from Hostin follows what is becoming a trend on the show, as the panel has been forced to issue several legal corrections over the last several weeks. The notes, which are read in response to unverified or incorrect topics discussed on the show, are typically read by Hostin.

Since President-elect Trump’s re-election last month, Hostin has been forced to read legal notes concerning additional unverified allegations against Hegseth, Matt Gaetz, and former U.S. Rep. George Santos.
