WATCH: ‘The View’ Hosts Go On Bizarre Anti-Man Rant
“The View” is stirring the pot once again with a segment that’s circling social media. In Friday’s episode that’s quickly turned viral, hosts of the show embarked on a bizarre rant against men.
Joy Behar kicked things off by reflecting on a viral clip where a group of women were bluntly asked if men were necessary in their lives—with the majority swiftly answering “no.”
Behar didn’t hold back, saying, “Do we need men? Most [women] answered very quickly, no. And only one said she thought women needed a man in their lives, only one. But when men were asked a similar question, do we need women? Most of them said yes. So why do you think that is?”
“Because men are useless,” Ana Navarro said.

Navarro then proceeded to make distinctions between straight and gay men, praising the latter for their role in women’s lives but questioning the utility of straight men. “Nobody can help you from keep you from doing harm to yours to yourself like gay men.”
“Yeah, wait till you’re married 20 years and you’ll see how replaceable they are,” Navarro said later in the segment.
As the conversation veered into discussions about the roles men play—or don’t play—in the lives of the show’s hosts, it became clear this wasn’t just idle chatter.
“The reason that women, I think that the reason women can stay married for as long as they do is because they have a lot of girlfriends,” said Behar. “They have girlfriends. Because I always have to initiate the conversations.”
One can’t help but wonder how the reaction might differ if the roles were reversed.
